To me those games have always been sub par. It's just my opinion but i dont think with out her polygonal "assets" the game would have done very well. I guess i'm what you'd call a gamer but i dont embody what most gamers do. I just love videogames. And i cant stand those 2 losers on x-play.
Don't be so hard on 'em. It's not their fault. They're literally forced to act that way at the risk of their jobs. Ever watched closely when Adam makes a stupid joke or lame little comment? His face contorts into a look of sheer pain. And Morgan rarely delviers her lines with any feeling(the field reports, especially one they did about the Penny Arcade "Childs Play" charity auction they were acting sane, normal, and happy. Like they ENJOYED themselves.
Then cut back to the studio and they want to be choked by a microphone again.
March 13, 2006 at 12:21 pm #24095flashHEART.EXEParticipantIts a lot less obvious with Adam and Morgan. Its like "Okay, yeah bad joke/sketch/whatever haha. Lets move on with our lives." Now the chick that hosts Cheat, it is EXTREMELY OBVIOUS that she hates her job. I imagine that as soon as the cameras quit rolling she screams at her assistant to get her a bottled water, a line of cocaine, and to put her agent on the phone. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I AM CONTRACTED TO DO THIS FOR 2 MORE SEASONS!?!?" etc.

She once took a potshot at gamers in general.
I went to the forum, saw about 30 "What the fuck is your problem!?" type threads/posts. Then a minute later, nothing.
I hated her with a fucking passion. She had nothing to do with gaming. She was cute. That's all G4 cares about anymore is how much they can sell them.

I've always thought Morgan was cuter. Whatsername Cheat girl is a little too skinny for me.
March 16, 2006 at 8:47 am #24098flashHEART.EXEParticipantThere are also topless pictures of Morgan floating around the net somewhere. I forget the story as to HOW they came about. It happened earlier when she was chubbier (but still cute). That is always a plus.

I definitely felt I was done with Tomb Raider, Chronicles felt pointless and Tomb Raider Dark Angel sucks… ass! We're talking about buggy gameplay, levels that are so broken they don't even load, an area in the game where you can literally float up the wall, and areas in the game where the FPS suffers so badly that it felt like 15 FPS.
I pretty cast away the tomb raider games and figured I wouldn't consider buying another one, until Legends showed up. This newest Tomb Raider is just looking spectacular, the original guy behind Tomb Raider is working on the project, and I'm hoping that with his talent driving the game this new adventure will be awesome, hopefully.
And yes Lara is looking damn gorgeous in the game.
March 30, 2006 at 9:05 am #24100Dr.OttoParticipantEidos was a bit aggravated that Core Design more or less killed their biggest franchise over the course, so this new Tomb Raider is being developed by Crystal Dynamics, whom you might recall from the Legacy of Kain series. CD has an impressive resume of games behind them, and I think it's safe to say that this one will be a return the what made the series popular to start with. I also hear the series creator (Toby Gard) is working on this new one as well; I understand he hasn't been involved with the TR series since the first game was finished.

Playable demo. 🙂
April 3, 2006 at 8:45 am #24102cwmossParticipantI'm playing the demo and I am liking it a lot. Very nice graphics, flawless response to the controls, very smooth running on my pc even though it's a few years old now. I played the last one all the way through and liked it even though the controls were very buggy and the graphics did weird stuff.
I like it because I'm very shallow and love to watch Lara's T&A jiggling through the game. I like mastering the controls to swing, jump and climb my way through the obstacles. I like exploring the levels, finding secrete places and solving the puzzles. I like to play shooter games like Quake, Half Life and Unreal and feel that Tomb Raider is a bit milder on the shooting and gore so I don't feel so bad playing it with my kids 2 & 6 years old.
I didn't like the new Doom. I feel it was too dark and shooting things in the dark was getting old so I didn't finish it. And my machine was getting low frame rates and it felt spotty. I didn't buy the new Quake because it is built on the same engine as Doom.
So waiting for a new Half-life or Unreal will take years and me and my older son had a lot of fun on Angle of Darkness so this new game looks like a real kick to me. Then there is no accounting for taste. LOL
I'm buying this as soon as it's out, I've got desktop Lara running and climbing my windows with a grappling hook. I love this stuff and I'm and old guy.
Here are the specs on my machine. I’m hopping in a year or so the wife will let me build a new one and give this one to the kids to replace my P3 500M back-up system:

You can actually get her wet, and her clothes will become soaked along with her skin. Once she gets out of a pool her skin shimmers with wet moisture. The puzzle are classic temple solving in the demo meaning it's not CITY Raider, but rather TOMB RAIDER.
The demo is really good, but I don't think I would recommend it for PC because the controls are a bit more difficult to get used to. Also if you don't have a high end PC you can forget seeing the "next generation" graphics which probably include showing off Lara's additional muscle tone that they put on her body.
But the game is pretty damn cool, I'd recommend you try the demo if you're considering buying.
