To be certain there have been previous occasions, rare as they might be, where Jen has been portrayed with a buffed up physique such as in the Fantastic Four, Doc Samson, Thunderstrike or even in the Sensational series, albeit in that case looking like massive Neanderthal along with all of its negative connotations about muscular females. Prior to the most recent incarnation (perhaps the best she’s ever been handled by Paul Peltier in balancing her magnetic femininity with her gamma-muscular stance) in the She-Hulk sole series there was this version with her at her most femuscular in the vein (no pun) of an extremely tall (far taller then normal since she was acting more like the Hulk then her She-Hulk self) contest-ish looking Female Bodybuilder in this storyline from the Avengers – "Search for the She-Hulk."

July 15, 2005 at 1:23 am #10137Mr BurroughsParticipantI have these issues at home; they were cool when they came out, but got eclipsed by the She-Hulk series that came a few months later.
The physique here is cool, but the thing I don’t love is the angry, veins-pumping "savage" She-Hulk. It’s far cooler in issues #8-12 of the She-Hulk series, when Jen pumps up willingly, shows off her new muscles, and then maintains this kind of "aw-shucks" reaction to the way her new strength affects her surroundings. The awareness of her physique is much hotter, on a deeper level, then the generic "hulk-out" seen here.
BTW, I’m not dissing your page scans. Thanks for posting them! I just need to reminisce about She-Hulk #8-12 once in a while until October rolls around and we see if Dan Slott lets Jen keep her muscles …

I know your not dissing me – 8) but if you were expecting the exquisite work of Paul Peltier again, or someone akin to him, say like Frank Cho, to be drawing her title, its not in the line up as Marvel has (last I heard) re-assigned Juan Bobillo as the artist for the title.
As for the vascularity, I agree wholeheartedly- her physique was just fine (heck, it was fantastic in appearance) and didn’t need that added to it, if anything it takes away from the impressiveness, IMHO, and I said as much at the time on the She-Hulk forum. My personal suspicion is, that it was an attempt at including a touch of "realism" to the appearance. I might add, in the real world of FBBing some fans actually find that fact attractive on a well honed, highly defined female physique, but I’m not one of them.
BTW – did you re-check out the Stunner posts, left you a PM about fixing the links.

Well Young Grasshopper, the cure to that is to support your local She-Grew forum with interactive commentary camaraderie – and materials of your own.
BTW – the key word to getting more is "please". <<< It works wonders . . . 8)
