I feel like I have to clarify myself here.  I'm not saying the artwork is bad, it's not, it's great.  I'm just saying that maybe shooting a lazer at the moon is a bit extreme.  And trust me, I know extreme.

And now I can't find the post where the guy shoots the lazer at the moon.

I think he was just making a reference to an episode of the animated "Tick" series wherein the villain, Chairface Chippendale, schemes to have his own name carved on the moon. (He only gets a couple of letters done before he's thwarted, though, and in a nice bit of subtle continuity you can still see those letters on the moon in subsequent episodes.)

My brain tells me that there was also a subsequent mission to the moon to try and erase the letters but they only managed to get one off.
