I never thought I’d be the kind of parent who worries this much about social media, but here I am. My daughter used to tell me everything about her day — now most of her stories seem to happen on Instagram with people I’ve never even heard of. Sometimes I watch her delete photos if they don’t get enough attention, and it breaks my heart to see her measure her worth in likes.
I know this is the world kids are growing up in, and I don’t want to overreact. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that she’s slowly drifting away from real-life moments. I’m trying to understand where guidance ends and control begins, but it’s not easy.

What you’re describing is something a lot of parents have started noticing as social media becomes more woven into everyday life. It can be unsettling to see how quickly it affects mood and attention, particularly when you remember how different things used to be. Wanting to stay supportive without becoming overly strict is a very thoughtful mindset, and it shows you’re trying to handle the situation with care rather than control.

You know, I couldn’t find a solution to this problem for a long time. Day after day, I watched my child texting someone day and night. At first glance, it seemed like nothing serious, but then I started thinking about the worst-case scenarios.Even my questions about what was going on on her social media received negative responses. That’s when a friend recommended uMobix. After that, I stopped monitoring my child’s every move and simply knew what was going on in her digital world.
