ParticipantI was just sitting here reading one of Magnus Knights stories when it came to me, The woman he used wasn't the person I was thinking of doing the growing. I thought back I use Fiona Apple as the growth model when the story calls for a average girl, Avril lavaine for the younger girl, and thanks to deadly pixxie's avator I now use Gwen for the hot girl.
My question is who does the growing in your head when you visualize the stories you read?

ParticipantMyself.
😀
I'm so egocentric. 😆
In any other stories, I imagine what the protagonist looks like…or if it's a celeb story, I pull up a picture of said celeb.

KeymasterAn interesting question you ask. In my case while writing a story I don't use one-to-one direct conversions with the mental imagining of my characters to be enhanced. Perhaps amalgamations or composites would be better terms since I do use similes of various r/w individuals to help the reader better relate to the physical appearance of my enhanced characters.
Thus, in the end given the application of my fervent and vivid imagination they are wholly my own creation. 😎

ParticipantThere is no imagination as perfect as your own.
When writing I try not to burden the reader with long tedious descriptions, imposing my image of what the character is in my minds eye because everyone gets an image of the character themselves anyway. I don't usually go much beyond hair color, general body type and relatively universal descriptors. It might sound like a cop out or a lazy attitude but it allows the reader to build the image themselves. I mainly let personality drive the story and the characters.
As far as what I picture when I read, it varies greatly from story to story, depending a lot on the groundwork the writer lays. It also depends a lot on the characters personality, certain personality traits bring to mind certain physical traits for me. Yea, it's hard to describe.

ParticipantBoy – tough question… It changes with almost every story. If I had to imagine an Asian and a brunette today? I would have to go with something like this.
My blond du jour is Monica Brant.
Of course, there are times when it is my fiancee… 😉

ParticipantWhen I's write a tale (with the except of a piece such as Innocence Bound, which is baded on existent artwork by Higalack) I's do not truly imagine a real person but rather attempt to construct an entirely new being within the space of my's Mind's Eye. Making the form and the face as individual as possible.
The same is as when I's read a tale.
Peace

ParticipantPersonality-wise for role play purposes, I base Lu on myself, deeply, so I think that's why I have such a personal link. For others maybe like Ulrich I'll use the personality of my brother.. who is pretty silly.. and for Yeva the personality of a friend of mine.. etc.
Physically? I don't.

ParticipantAny one can be a model, but few can be a muse.
I like to take traits from different women I see in passing each day to form one for a story. This way the women seem more realistic.
Thats just me though, I may be wrong.

ParticipantI think of women I see often during the week, think of the best things I like about them regarding personal and physical attributes, and then apply them to my imagination the best I can.
