Why is my adult CPM advertising not working

Has anyone else felt like they’re just burning money on ads lately? I’ve been running campaigns for a while, but when it comes to Adult CPM Advertising, the results were honestly disappointing at first.

My main issue was simple: I was spending more, expecting better reach and conversions, but nothing really improved. Traffic came in, sure, but engagement was low and conversions were almost non-existent. It made me question if CPM was even worth it for adult offers.

After digging into it a bit and testing different approaches, I realized I was focusing too much on impressions and not enough on what actually happens after the ad is seen. I tried tweaking creatives first. Surprisingly, even small changes like using clearer visuals and less clutter made a noticeable difference. Then I started narrowing down my targeting instead of going broad. That helped filter out low-quality traffic.

Another thing I overlooked was placement. Some placements were eating up budget without bringing any value. Once I paused those and shifted spend to better-performing spots, things started improving slowly.

I’m not saying I’ve cracked the perfect formula, but it feels more controlled now. The biggest takeaway for me was that CPM isn’t just about getting views it’s about making those views count.

If you’re in the same boat, maybe take a closer look at creatives, targeting, and placements before increasing your budget. Sometimes the problem isn’t the traffic model it’s how we’re using it.
