Well. got my copy of Civil War #1, and I have to say that I liked it. It actually made me want to continue readung. The only thing I hope, is that I don't have to get all the tie-ins, because I will end up broke.
The only thing that was really weird, was that besides Iron-Man and Mr. Fantastic, the other hero at the meeting was Pym. Kind of wewird for me.
But what I'm really looking foward, is thew she hulk tie-in, where she is at a crossroad. I hope Slott gets that right. And now comes my analysis on the last "shockling events" in the MU.
for the last 3 years, Marvel has been giving us very impoortant events. First, the dissasembled arc, eich lead to the House of M events. If one uses a straight line of thinking, the next big event should be, the open end they gave at House of M. Instead of that, the create a Civil War (wich I think is a great idea), and leave the return of all the mutant powers to a story in New Avengers. I haven't read any x title for a long time, and I'll keep my oath to that, but Professor X missing is something big in the MU. I haven`t read a thing about that. I am really expecting what will happen in The Avengers, and in Son of M to see how things end.
to end this weird tread, I'll say that, besides the fact that I love comic books, I'm starting to get kind of bored that every year, a very shocking story arc involving the entire universe takes place. It's like they have to come up with something very big to sale the books at summer (in your side of thre glove).
Jsut my thoughts,
Fasola
PS: I haven't sleep in 2 days, and my mind is kind of out of itself, understand why I'm posting this….

I just hope the New Avengers aren't completely destroyed by this because I think New Avengers is the best monthly title Marvel has right now.
May 6, 2006 at 3:12 pm #27910HolidayParticipantFasola, Professor Xavier finally appeared in Deadly Genesis #5. But he's no longer a mutant. The Scarlet Witch did however leave him a final 'gift'. Therefore, it will be difficult for him to make a stronger contribution to the Civil War.
If Marvel is serious about making big changes to their universe, then I'll stick to it. I've given up on DC.

Okay. I don't know what happened to him during House of M. Nobody could find him. But in Deadly Genesis #5 he came back when Scott's long lost brother, the third Summers brother finally revealed himself. It was revealed that Xavier knew of his existence long ago, but kept it a secret after the disasterous incident with Krakoa. Scott's brother, Gabriel, was part of an earlier rescue attempt which failed. Professor X erased everyone's memory of that.
When Xavier returned in this comic, we see he can walk again. Courtesy of Scarlet Witch, but without his powers. A parting gift in ridicule of his ideals.

DC made a pretty confusing, meandering mess of that plot. Civil War is much easier to follow in comparison. I was surprised to see what happened to Cap. I have a feeling he wouldn't normally have reacted the way he did, and I need to catch up on what happened regarding his recent history with SHIELD. Can anyone fill me in?
May 9, 2006 at 12:38 pm #27914HolidayParticipantSorry. Haven't kept up with Captain America. I know fans love the "Winter Soldier" saga. It supposedly beats Batman's stupid return of Jason Todd. Red Skull has been discovered to be murdered – shot in the head. But his followers and evil daughter are up to something. In New Avengers we learn that somebody is corrupting SHIELD and HYDRA for their own devices. The new director, Hill, is more of a hardass administrator. She doesn't give as much slack as Fury did.
May 9, 2006 at 11:45 pm #27915fungo09ParticipantI liked civil war alot… Its probably the most simple plot there is too in the sense that either you wanna keep secret or dont…Personally Im kinda leaning on the whole Identity being kept secret side, stories are better that way. I think marvel will put some of the more popular hero's on the governments side just to make it interesting… ykno? I mean I did see spiderman standing aside Ironman on one of the covers… anyway later guys
May 19, 2006 at 6:54 am #27916fasolaParticipantFirst Holiday, thanks for the info, but an incredible curious man that I am, I couldn't resist, and read Deadly genesis. Man that think Scott said to Charles at the end is very mean. I don't know how everything will end, since the power are back on Earth, and maybe everything gets back to normal. There evens seems to be a big fight in Genosha, or was it at the Moir island, well don't know got to check that back.
Fungo, Spider-man's side story is the most I want to check out, It seems that he is at the mother of all rossroads, let's hope they put it nice enough to make it memorable.
The thing with Ms Hill (S.H.I.E.L.D. actualk C.E.O.) is that after the third Secret War (you have to check that, it has an amazing art, and the story is quite good (specially now, with the Civil War thing)) (-man a coment insede a coment, I know-), they put her there, because the goverment is shure that she is not a Furu loyallist, and she wil remaind on their side (this becomes clear in the Fury files). What remains unknown is, if Ms Hill is a spy inside the force or something. All the corruption in SHIELD and HYDRA is what got the New Avengers toghether.
I really looking foward for this. The only thing that bothers me, is thta Civil War has started, but we still have the Avengers fighting the Super Mutant. That is some bad timing, we can't have too arcs come at the same time, and they are both separete. they are mixing the timeline, and that has me confused.
May 21, 2006 at 8:49 am #27917HolidayParticipantI hope Marvel doesn't claim HYDRA or Prince Namor set up the New Warriors. If they go the conspiracy root this becomes bogus.
