I had been watching a lot of indie league wrestling these last few years. Mostly Shimmer, but some Joshi and a smattering of NCW. I like some of the WWE wrestlers. But with Beth Phoenix MIA that only left Natalya as the only real skilled wrestler and she couldn’t very well wrestle herself. So I missed out on this NXT revolution.
NXT had quietly been usurping great women from the indie leagues I had been watching. Women I thought had quit wrestling had assumed new names and were wrestlingin the big leagues now.
Leva Bates is wrestling as Blue Pants. She used to come to ringside in cosplay all the time. A different character every time. But don’t let that fool you she is very proficient at grappling.
Davina Rose is now known as Bayley. She is the student/protege of Serena Deeb. Very good wrestler.
Jessie McKay is wrestling as Billie Kay now. And much improved imo since her Shimmer days. Gone is the leggy brunette who’s sole move was a high kick. Now she is using armbar combos, submission holds, and high kicks.
Last but certainly not least is Rebecca Knox’s transformation into Becky Lynch. She is a top notch grappler that’s for sure. Amazing physique! She was always in great shape in the indies but “wow!” now. Recently she has been teaming up with Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair (two other great wrestlers) and even appearing on RAW. :woohoo:August 17, 2015 at 2:12 am #127181mistaricstaParticipantHey, Dana Brooke is coming up, too! Granted, I don’t get the Beth comparisons moveset-wise, but physically…

Disagree with any list that has Trish on the same level as real talent
Sex appeal =Yes,..talent=No!!
but it was a good stroll down memory lane

aside from a few women who had alcoholism
majority of the wrestling females have done alright for themselves

I am glad WOW made a come back. Jungle Grrrl looks in great shape. Hope they have more muscular wrestlers.
