LOL Alex you have great taste. i actually have all the shows you mentioned on DVD/BR.
I get the feeling McDuffie and not Timm was really brains behind Justice League and JLU, because DC has not been able to reproduce anything of that quality since his untimely death.
I’m amazed that something as good as Regular Show (Its anything but)
has managed to continuely slip by the gatekeepers at CN.The creators must have a cloaking device or something to keep it off the ganking radar.

One of the last things McDuffie was involved with was the Ben 10 equivalent of Beast Machines.
One of the most recent things Timm has been involved with is Green Lantern: The Animated Series, which is freaking fantastic (and thus is also getting the ax).
Just saying.

But I still suspect without McDuffie those JL shows would not have been the same caliber.
Its not just depressing that YJ and Avengers:EMH are being canceled, its what they are being replaced with — Teen Titans? I mean Beast Boy had his moments, but come on. And “Beware the Batman” — aren’t we sick to death of Batman at this point?
March 8, 2013 at 10:22 am #112965Muscle Growth NutParticipantI was sort of looking forward to “Teen Titans Go!” until I found out that the guys in charge of it have openly admitted that they never watched the original series.
March 9, 2013 at 2:15 pm #112973fungo09ParticipantKhuddle, EMH is more than likely being replaced with a sequal series.
March 9, 2013 at 3:34 pm #112976HolidayParticipantYou really have to wonder about the people who run these shows — Thundercats, Avengers EMH and YJ were all great shows that are getting cancelled (or on hiatus in the case of YJ). And what do we get to replace them: “Beware the Batman”, yet ANOTHER Batman animated series this time with the animation in CGI, and “Teen Titans Go!”, a Teen Titans reboot (which was a very childish series as I recall). Yuck.
The new Thundercats was cancelled? Geez, I haven’t even watched it yet.
March 10, 2013 at 11:36 pm #112994AlexGKeymasterIt does make one wonder what sorts of pinheads are running CN anyway.
Nothing I’ve observed from CN leads me to believe that any of those in CnC management have an affinity for the superheroic genre that is especially crafted and written for a more mature target audience.
Question is, did they receive a large enough share of the audience to keep them going?
Alternatively, back to my first sentence, does that sort of factoring-in matter anymore?
Case in point, last year over at FOX the program Terra Nova had more then enough of an audience share to justify another season. Instead, despite that fact they just cancelled it without further consideration.

This is the guy who keeps foisting crappy live-action shows on the network even though they always bomb. This is the guy who, upon coming to power, called in everyone who currently had a show running at the time and had them re-pitch their shows to him as a prelude to cancelling them. This is the guy who drove off the talent that put CN on the map to begin with (Genndy Tartakovsky went to work for Sony Animation after CN pulled the plug on Sym-Bionic Titan before it even started airing, and Craig McCracken’s next show will be on the Disney Channel). This is the guy who keeps ordering new seasons of Johnny Test and fills the schedule with it like it was the Second Coming of SpongeBob.
I honestly don’t think ratings would actually matter. If a show isn’t a success in the specific demographic they expected, they clearly think the show is a failure. It’s completely insane.
