That’s part of mythos about them is true. I recall reading about it in the Time / Life Treasury of American Folklore.

However, where the Classical era Greeks got the idea of the Amazons came from a combination of sources. One is believed to be the Spartan women, who were reputed to be as tough, if not tougher then the men of that martial city-state. Another, perhaps the primary source, was the Scythians, which historians now believe was a matriarchal culture and whom the Greeks had contact with as a part of their overseas trading network.

This is not news,..during his run on Wonder Woman during 2003-06 run he made her bisexual
Matter of fact,..everytime Rucka has been on a book there is a lesbian character
What should be news is why is Rucka the only writer who has the”grapes”to make Princess Di queer?
Then again his reasoning is slightly flawed if Amazons are naught damn immortals because training everyday from birth doesn’t leave alotta time for snu-snu outside of going on raiding parties like the ancient Vikings

Isn’t it about time DC Comics just return to their pre-Crisis mutli-verse and have a separate queer WW title? That way fans of the Supes/WW or Batman/Diana romances can still enjoy those stories while supporters can enjoy a queer Diana?
