Well until we know who’s playing her, we can’t say much I guess. Though I really hope it’s not some skinny thing.

That’s true. I’m just trying to ignore the fact that some of the women on David E Kelley’s shows became some of the skinniest women in television at the time .

This can have great writers, great effects and still come up short. The reason I think is because WW will be so hard to cast to please everyone. By that I mean die hards comic fans, Carter fans etc.

To be ideal, she would have to be tall, beautiful, athletic and have the ability to act. You can find some of them but I have yet to see all of them. That is why she can succeed in the animated genre fairly easily because there are no such restraints.

Given Kelley’s history, I think they could find a tall, beautiful woman who can act, but she won’t have the body. And for me that is a problem because skinny does not scream Amazon warrior to me. I would not be able to get into a show like that, even for the sake that we have a wonder woman tv show as opposed to nothing. I would rather have nothing then something short of the mark to tarnish the image of the character.

    lol

meh, I just can’t see WW being a good movie on the big screen, ever. Mainly cause the only actress I see out there with that special ‘broohah’ to kick ass and take names is Milla Jovavich and that would never fly. Not that the character can be taken very seriously with that star studded outfit of hers whether she’s in the bustier or not. A TV show doesn’t sound like it would last either because no decent actress could fill a serious WW role…

… now a loving parody of WW… staring maybe Cameron Diaz who’s been sportin a very athletic build lately would totally have my money in a heart beat.

Besides, WW looks better in comics and cartoons anyway.

Here’s a little reminder on sci-fi/fantasy shows. They’re expensive. It’s as expensive as shooting in New York without special effects. So when shows like this premiere they really need to earn viewers to justify the costs. Bionic Woman was an example of weak writing. The Middleman TV show was great but it pandered too much to geeks. So whatever the producers do for a WW show they really need to cut down on costs but still bring quality to the story.

Translation: don’t get hung up on Greek mythos. It’s Boston, baby.

I’ll see your Bionic Woman and raise you a Battlestar: Galactica.

A reboot can work, look at Hawaii 5-0, its doing great in the ratings. The writing is doing good, there’s an actual evolution of the characters going on from week to week. You can see the showrunners are guiding the group into becoming the cohesive team of the original.

Its has done so well that Ronald Moore, the guy that did the great B:G reboot, is going to be shopping around a reboot of The Wild Wild West. With him behind it, I think it stand a fair chance of being good.

You just need the right combination of showrunners, writers and cast for it to work.

I would like to see this show succeed, but let’s be honest. Unless they stick true to Wonder Woman, I don’t see this being very successful. 🙁

My super EXgirl friend &Black scorpian is any window to what its going to be like with female super heros , than let WW be with no live action anything.
The 70’s show really lack any super villians for her to tackle.
They just don’t do super gals any justice these days.
I would like to see a small woman transform in to a powerhouse and have to deal with day to day life of family and fight crime.
but they’ll screw it up, make her have an ex husband whos a super villian.and she looks brutish in her power form.

David E. Kelley did do Lake Placid…

    Not that it’s any consolation…
