ParticipantThe preliminary entry lists have been published. Some Chinese lifters miss from the list because they haven't announced them due to closeness of National Games. In Xinhua News they reported that Wang Mingjuan (48kg category), Chen Xiaoting (53kg category), Li Xueying (58kg category), Guo Xiyan (63kg category), Liu Chunhong, (69kg category), Cao Lei (75kg category), Meng Suping, (over 75kg category)would be the lifters.
Nahla Ramadan is making a comeback in 75+ category and she did recently 280 total in national championships.

Yeah, it'll be fun to be able to actively discuss you reports instead of only being to read them and rely on my imagination.

ParticipantWell there seems to be quite a good coverage at the IWF so no reason to write the same things again.

29.05.1984 THA 52.45 A — — —Officials have screwed up already twice in these games. First in women 48 kg division they put the wrong weights for WANG Mingjuans last attempt and she lost the clean and jerk victory due to that mistake even though she was able to complete the lift.
The second one when they didn't add correct weight for Chen Xiaoting and she had to hurry to perform her lift and failed in it. Then they admitted their mistake and gave her fourth attempt but it was no go.
The victory went to 16-year-old phenomena Chinshanlo Zulfiya who had huuuuge legs. She tied the world record in c&j and thus naturally made also youth and junior records.
Yudelquis Maridalin wasn't banned for doping offense after all.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced sanctions against five athletes who participated in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing for having committed anti-doping violations. However, it did not disqualify Dominican Republic's Yudelquis Maridalin Contreras (fifth in the 53kg weightlifting event) after counter-analysis failed to confirm the initial result.
