ParticipantGuess this topic will draw me out of the shadows and actually post.
That picture was pretty disturbing the first time I viewed it, but not quite as much on a second viewing.
I've been a "lurker" on this board and Wrecks before it for a long time. I have to agree with the collector that I thought he was too lax at times, especially towards the end. I never really liked the rancor that the debates on wether the contest should include furries escalated to every month. Those comments always included posts that were far from civil. As far as the variety of tit-based smileys; I remember Wreck using them but the vast majority of there occurrences were from other posters who included them with their comments on someones artwork. Or in some cases as the comment on the artwork. I seem to remember a couple guys that would just post 40+ of those smileys as their comment on the artwork. At least that's how I remember it.
But regardless, Wreck provided this comunity with a great service to go with his obvious talent. I personally wouldn't want to put up with the grief that goes with being the moderator of one of these message boards and for that I feel that both Wreck and Lingster deserve our thanks.
Hopefully Wreck pulls it all together.

ParticipantWreck is one of the best femuscle artists around.
His forum was a place I always checked each day, because of all the great femuscle art & discussion.
I was sorry to see it go.
I hope he gets out of his depression.

ParticipantIt's not often I post here, ok actually this is the first time, but I have to say if memory serves me right (sorry watching too much Iron Chef) Wreck had the same "breakdown" when he closed the forums, it was always more than just the cost that got to him, christ I remember being in the chat room while I was at work one day and he wouldn't pick himself up no matter what any one said.
I wish him all the best and hopefully he finds a new direction and out let rather than self pity, or self mutilation. A talen like his, even if he doesn't draw alot latley is still talent that shouldn't be lost.

GuestMuffin Man, your nitpicking of Wreck's posts and alleged rudeness and repetitiveness; your disgust at his "whoring" of characters, etc. seems rather misplaced and egregious to me.
You folks yakety-yakking about "who Wreck trusted" and his state of "emo" sound like a bunch of hens!
The guy's no saint, but why for all the "aggro" (if I'm using these weird Gen-X terms–is that what they are?–correctly)?

Damn right! Time for the cock to speak! So, here goes:
MuffinMan, I was a member of wreck's board for a long time, and I must say that my feelings about it – regarding Ed's behaviour – are very different. He was certainly more actively involved than the owner and moderators over here, and he did show a dictatorial streak at times, but not to the extent that it become a nuisance (the only nuiseance I remember from that time being the infamous Mr. Davis). I never felt he was pushing his art too much (again, that would be Mr. D), and you can't blame him for people using his work as avatars.
I can't really judge if he's suicidaly depressed or just "emoting" – whichever it is, I'm not sure the correct reaction at this time is to tell him "good riddance" (which is how your original post comes off to me as – though I would guess was not your intention). As for his art: personally, I don't like the "Wrecked" look, can't stand those mountains upon mountains of inhuman muscles and tits – and yet, I just couldn't take my eyes off his drawings; this guy is so talented, it just shone through in everything he did. If you look at his blog, see his more "conventional" work, you might see this for yourself.
Of course, as was mentioned before, there are so many more elements involved in "making it" in the industry – raw talent is just not enough. Again, I'm not sure about Ed's circumstances, but the fact is he's still stuck at his horrible job instead of living off his talent, which is obviously what he should be doing. This would make anyone depressed. I would tell him to be strong and keep working at it – if Tom Derenick gets to draw comic books for the big boys, no way in hell Ed Morges is not gonna get there too!

Participantnever had enough confidence in his abilities, always seeing faults in his work or in his work ethic
Show me an artist who does and I will show you someone with an unhealthy degree of arrogance.
Artists can ALWAYS improve. They will ALWAYS find faults in their own work. They will ALWAYS go through times they don't have the will, or the inspiration to create.
We are our own worst critics. All the talk I hear about him, and looking at those pics, I'd say he's almost level with my favourite artist, Michael Turner, in a measure of skill. But it's all personal prefference- and I like Michael's stuff more than his- just like I like Chris' stuff more than any other FMG artists I know. It seems this guy was more popular for the content before the tallent, and believe me from experience, being liked for content over tallent can drive you crazy. Not to say I'm defending him or whatever, I'm just looking at this from what I've heard and what I've seen.
Afterall, he's just a person like you and me. Worth no more, or no less.February 8, 2006 at 3:26 am #22082dwarfpriest
ParticipantAs a visitor, I never knew Wreck much. I doubt I ever exchanged some words with him (maybe once or twice) but as I spent more time on the art threads, I didnt saw him much on others places, so I can't say if he was cool or not. But is a considerable good artist, better than many marvel/dc/image professional artists out there.
If he really is on a depression slump, I hope he can recover.

ParticipantDon't know anything about the politics of this issue.
I Just read stories, forums, and draw crappy little cartoon fem-muscle drawings.
But I gotta say that regardless of Wreck's problems, etc.
He is one of my favorite artists of female muscle, for me.. he is in the top 3 for sure.I hope he figures his problems out, he is quite a talented artist.
Deppresion and low self-esteem is a total bitch.February 9, 2006 at 9:25 am #22084David

Oh I agree Kulli but there is a point where most artist will say it looks good enough and for Wreck he had a hard time having the confidence to say that. He'd gone to pro's he practically worshipped and they'd ask him "Why aren't you working?" but it never sank in enough for him to go that step farther.

ParticipantTwo things:
1) When I first saw Wreck's art in LH-Art, I thought "this guy's work is as good as comic book artists!" (this is a BIG compliment).
2) About artists thinking their art isn't good enough, I knew an artist whose art was very good, but he didn't think so.
To those artists who think their art isn't good enough to show (Fett *cough*, etc.;), we KNOW you're art is good. Most of my posts here are telling you guys so!
Keep it up!
