Back in the 90s, I enjoyed (greatly) “Hercules: TLJs”, but as for” Xena: WP”, I wasn’t much of a fan of the series.

ParticipantI didn’t like either. They should had cast Vicky Pratt as Xena. Lawless does not look fit, nor can she fight. Granted its a show, still would been better if they had cast a woman who is more skilled and/or more fit. And now she is approximately 15 years older.

Well, they did cast Vicky, albeit in a manner of speaking as the tough girl Sarge in Cleopatra 2525. 😉 B)

I liked Cleopatra 2525, I think part of the reason is Vicky. She is just too hot. I would had liked Xena if they had cast Cory Everson or Rachel Mclish.July 23, 2015 at 2:56 am #126835skinnyguy
ParticipantDoes anyone really expect that them to cast a woman who looks strong and athletic for a role where the main character is strong and athletic? No, they cast a more traditional looking female and then have the audience suspend its disbelief so that our collective views on how women are supposed to look are not offended.
Has anyone watched how the entertainment industry treats women? If women do not fit certain stereotypes of beauty and body type and age, then their career is limited.

ParticipantI think that is how Hollywood always works. Remember Kung Fu? They could have casted Bruce Lee instead of David Carrdine.

ParticipantLucy Lawless responded that the rumors were premature.
Well, shit. We can’t have Xena. We can’t have Black Widow.
Maybe they should give us a new She-Ra tv series.
