Well… I'll try to make a long story short. I'd been lurking this site for a couple of years (sorry, Lingster) and finally decided that I'd "come out", so to speak, and went ahead and registered, etc. When I went to make my first post, using the moniker of "solitariodude" (named for a certain, local geological formation that I enjoy backpacking in) surprise! My real name came up on the post and totally blew me away. Of course, I promptly went in and tried to change my profile, but to no avail. I was able to change everything else other than the name which others would see on my posts. After a couple of more posts that still showed my name, I Googled myself and, lo and behold, there I was exposed to the entire WWW (or at least, those who knew me) with a direct link to Amaz0ns. After my initial shock, I decided that it was "meant to be" and so have continued on as such. I guess, too, I'm at a point in life where I really don't care if family and friends know that I happen to hold such a fascination for strong women. It is something that I've had since childhood and I am not ashamed to admit it. Hope that answers any questions and that I haven't bored you all…
P.S. Funny thing, when I sign in on the front page, any posts made show me as "solitariodude", here in the forum, I'm just plain 'ol me.

Dude, that's the sweetest kind of freedom you have achieved.  It almost tempts ME to use my real name, though I'm not really hiding it from the FM per se but rather other things that I need to keep private.

Well, it all started about 12 years ago or so when I was a staffer for the online game, Neverwinter Nights when it was on AOL from 1991-1997.  We used to run little events for the players and they would occasionally need NPCs (non-player characters) for roleplaying purposes.  I chose a character from the AD&D world named Zespara Alather who was a female blacksmith who was muscular.  Her bio is listed below from the "The North: Guide to the Savage Frontier, p. 75. TSR, Inc."

Zespara Alather is a talented swordsmith who runs the House of the Bright Blade in Mirabar. Occasionally one to partake in adventuring, Zespara has powerful friends, notably, several anonymous mages. Also a members of the Harpers, she also sometimes operates as an agent of the Lords' Alliance; as such, Zespara Alather has slain many dangerous members of evil organizations such as the Zhentarim, the Red Wizards and the Arcane Brotherhood.

That's about it from me.  I originally was going to delete the screenname from my AOL account but decided to use it for my hobby interests as it were.  When I consolidated my AOL accounts (I used multiple accounts for business and my staff NPC needs) I deleted the Zespara account and created the Zespara1 screenname on my main account.

Agreed, though my username does give away my surname and initials. ::)
