ParticipantThe guys in that project are anything but amateurs. I'm anxious to see what comes out of it.

ParticipantWow! 84KG and lean sounds pretty big! Good luck on the training.

ParticipantYou'll always have certain percentage that feel otherwise, but taken as a group I think that most prefer the toned, but shapely-curvaceous off-season look. 8)
I wonder then, why don't we have female bodybuilder contests featuring a softer, bulkier more sensual off-season shapes?
Who decided that female bodybuilders should only compete when they have 2% body fat and silicon enhanced boobs?
I really don't get it. I think that if they created a female bodybuilding competition based on beauty and sensuality , if it would be much more popular and mainstream then the ones we have today. And plenty more women would want to compete in them.

I meant *faints*. :/ Just don't know how to edit my messages in this forum after a few minutes have passed.
Anyway, maybe it's just me, but I always thought female bodybuilders are much sexier in their off-season look.

ParticipantI pretty much agree with everything you said CP.
Without a more mainstream exposure, FBB will become more and more an obscure internet fetish product. Like japanese girls puking into each others mouth. Well, maybe not THAT obscure. 😛
Anyway, I do wonder what would be need to regain some of the status that it had a decade ago or more. Perhaps more control over steroids usage? Less rigorous muscle definition standards and less breast implants?
I don't have much faith. Unless there are some major pharmacological improvements that will help women achieve big sizes without damaging androgenic effects, I don't see it getting any better any time soon.

ParticipantAnother point to raise is that competition-shape FBBs are expected to be insanely shredded now, versus 20 years ago. A lot of women go through that process once and then can never bear to do it again. So the population of competitive FBBs is smaller.
I agree with you on this. If you ask me, when women become too shredded, they lose a lot of their femininity. Just my opinion. Maybe that's one of the reasons I find earlier FBB's much more attractive.
If anyone wants to know what I consider a fantastic FBBing physique AND ideal conditioning, take a look at this:
That's a great example of a beautiful and feminine bodybuilder. May she R.I.P..

ParticipantIt's really no mystery why Female Bodybuilding is a vanishing sport. All you have to do is go to youtube, look at the videos from late 80's and early 90's and then look the videos of the most recent competitors.
Steroids fucked everything up. Even the most hardcore bodybuilders of the earlier time looked feminine and beautiful. Athletes like Hannie Van Akken, Sandy Riddell, Bev Francis, Cory Everson, Lenda Murray, etc…
Today most of what we see are horribly disfigured faces with clear maleish features. It's really hard to sell THAT for the mainstream customers.
