The episode was good, I’m glad it lived up to the hype it built up over 2 years.

I hope she makes a comeback in later What if episodes or in a MCU film since they are getting into the whole multiverse idea with the new Dr. Strange and Spider-Man movies.

Been eagerly waiting for this for almost 2 years now lol. Sadly this will most likely just be a standalone episode. I do hope we get to see more role-reversal episodes (specially Hulk/ Thor) in this season or the next one, fingers crossed! Maybe more of her on Season 2.

Batman Beyond: Rebirth (2016-) Issue 8 features a criminal group called the “Banes” which features two female Banes (they have a very distinctive feminine body type yet completely hulked out, one of them even broke Batman’s ribs.

Too bad they met their demise in just two panels. Dammit Bruce! You had to kill off what appeared to be the most hulked out female characters in the comic book history.

Some Batman Beyond story arcs gave us very muscular female characters, like when Batgirl became Bane’s disciple and hulked out, or when Harley Quinn was given the Venom serum (although non-canonical arc of Futures End). But that future too was undone by reversing time. 🙁

Oh well at least we have Roberta Mendez, 2099 Captain America.

She Hulk is a major character in Marvel, but all the character rights are split between 3 different movie studios- 20th Century Fox (XMEN, Fantastic 4, Deadpool), Sony (Spider-Man- they let Marvel Studio use Spider-Man because they realised lately they suck) and Marvel Studios.

This is why we never got a Hulk movie after the first one. I doubt we will get any new characters in Infinity War, Civil War would have been a better opportunity if any to introduce She Hulk..

Time and time again people are overlooking that fact that acting is not something easy that anyone could do.

Plus a lot of the time actresses work across multiple roles in different movies, so its hard to get them to gain some bulk as other film directors might want her to be skinny (i.e. lose muscle mass). This is problematic esp. when we are talking about superhero franchises which would mean GG stays WW for at least a decade- she might have other commitments. So let’s stop blaming her or DCEU.

GG is tall- which helps. While she is a great actress – my issue with casting her is she does not look intimidating as WW…. At all. If GG was standing in front of me fully geared up in WW outfit, giving me a stare and at the same time I stepped on a mud puddle, I would be more worried about the mud puddle than an angry GG. Its almost as if Adam Sandler was allowed to play Superman.

P.s. That photo of Natasha Aughey is incredible! Take nothing away from her, I also said the exact same when some people wanted Rhonda Rousey to play Captain Marvel.

Wonder Woman is dumped as an honorary UN ambassador after uproar over her ‘skimpy costumes, big breasts and white skin’

I normally don’t like talking about politics here, but this is wrong in so many levels.

I personally don’t get the appointment of a fictional character thing by UN and it seems extremely stupid to even begin with, but dumping someone for their “white skin” – how exactly isn’t that racist? Imagine the global outrage if the UN appointed Storm and later she would have been dumped for her “Dark skin”. And what’s more funny is the skin colour of Wonder Woman is never established, I mean she is half goddess and half amazon to even begin with. On top of that Gal Gadot isn’t even white and Lynda Carter is half Mexican.

Big breasts- again she is a comic book character FFS, and often times many artists have drawn her with a flat chest. Even Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot, actresses who has played Wonder Woman don’t have very big boobs (they are both great actresses).

Skimpy clothes.. Like seriously grandpa this is 2016, not 1946. And most female superheroes kind of wear “skimpy costumes”. Which btw make more sense than a cowl or wearing your undies outside now that I think of it. Plus Wonder Woman is immune to bullets, she has Superhuman strength and durability, so she wouldn’t need a dense armour to begin with.

What else should they wear? Burkas?

Oh well, Welcome to PC UN.

This is controversial because Batgirl was always more of a daughter like figure to Batman in the comic books. Batman never really had a fixed love interest, but Catwoman occasionally.

In fact, Dick Grayson, Batman’s adopted son in most incarnations (first Robin, currently Nightwing), often was romantically involved with Barbara Gordon, replaced by Tim Drake x Babs in the Arkham trilogy.

It would be great if it is done right. Forget Hollywood, many comic book writers and artists have a extremely feminine interpretation of female superheroes (a lot of detail goes into their curves rather than their muscularity, even if they have the physical strength of Hulk or Superman).

Sadly, I doubt that this will ever happen. A medium/ major Hollywood film with a muscular woman as it’s lead character seems unlikely,

Do you know her name? It is incredibly difficult to get a job at Google, you have to sit through 8-10 interviews, most of them being technical, where you have to write code. I am doing a minor/ 2nd major in Computer Science and my friends who have completed internships (not even full time jobs) at Google were incredibly smart.

Perfect combination of brains and muscle.

Gal Gadot is 1.78 m tall, which is about 5’10”. The only two other actresses that I can think of who are of the same height as her would be Nicole Kidman (1.8 m) and Cameron Diaz (1.78 m). So for an actress, she is tall- which is a physical attribute of Wonder Woman- so thumbs up to this film for that.

But what the creators of this film got wrong is- they got the wrong character to bulk up IMO.

I think that The Dark Knight Returns series, was one of the best comic book series for Batman. Frank Miller might be a great writer, but he seems to have little idea about human anatomy. His version Bruce Wayne, who was in his 60s was about like 7’5″ in height and as ripped as the incredible Hulk, his Batman was massive! This pretty much makes him a borderline superhero.

Sadly, Zack Snyder has gone for Frank Miller’s version of ultra muscular Batman asking Ben Affleck to put on more muscle. This makes me wonder, how in the world can Batman be stealthy (Batman’s biggest strength) with this much bulk? He would be very hard to miss. I would have wanted an Arkhamverse Batman.

I think they should have gotten Gal Gadot to put on more muscle, instead of Ben Affleck (who was already enough buff to play a decent Batman).

We don’t need to get an FBB or an athlete to play Wonder Woman, in fact I hope we don’t. While I very much appreciate the talents of FBBs and athletes, but acting isn’t very easy either, and Gal Gadot is a good actress. What could have been done is- to ask Gal Gadot to put on some more muscle. She said she had to put on like 17 pounds of muscle to play Wonder Woman, but IMO she needed to put on more muscle, way more.

Here is a picture of Hilary Swank from Million Dollar Baby:

And Jessica Beil from Blade series:

Which shows actresses in the past have bulked up for certain roles.

And I think it would have been perfect if Gal Gadot was asked to put on even more muscle than the ones above. I am sure for a big movie like this they could have found new talented tall actresses, who would have been willing bulk up for such a major role with almost guaranteed sequels.

While Jesse Eisenberg is a great actor, but I don’t like him being cast as Lex Luthor. He has been made too goofy, which doesn’t really go with Lex’s serious personality. I would have picked Matt Damon or Jason Clarke to play Lex Luthor.

As a long time DC fan (specially Batman) I am not trying to think about the negative stuff. I am watching this movie at it’s very first screening. I am going in there with an open mind, although this movie might fail badly. Which would be a shame, given how good the first two trailers were, and the hype that they created.
