ParticipantYou guys have a point there. Being an electronics engineer I'm kinda immune to techno babble but It was noticeable that too much explaining was going on. Good stories grow as they're told with little "plain" explaining. It was odd that the doctor told Aki EVERYTHING like they never met before. 2 working comrades know each other better.
But keep up with those 3D Picture and I Hope one day I'll buy a movie from you!!
About that… [glow=red,2,300]Muahahahah! [/glow]
That girl is part of the evolutionary scale of a character called Tracy Fox (Lets say she's Tracy's clone 😀 ) that hopefully I'll be releasing soon in the form of a 3d animated series called Tracy Fox Tales.
Im slowly gathering a team. I already have a voice actress, a 3d model creator and a musician working with me but I still need tons of more people (Like a Bryce animator for outdoor scenes for example).
If any of you guys are interested in the series either as a collaborator or a possible fan let me know.CDR

ParticipantMs Ashlee:
May I give some light upon the that subject. The reason that Hollywood uses the "cuttie" look for 3d animation lies in a psicological phenomena called "The uncanny valley" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley. It basically describes human emotional response over visualized objects according to their resemblance to human beings. People's empathy grows with the human-likeness of the object untill the object looks allmost human. Allmost is the key word here. The emotional response goes into plain rejection right before being fooled by the object's look. If you can detect that something isnt human but looks like it, you'll probably feel rejection. It seems we have some deep animal instinct that may have been useful to drive us away from sick people (green skin, deformed, etc) among other things.
So. Whats does that has to do with animated or 3d movies?
Hollywood has burnt its hand with the uncanny valley effect before. Anyone remembers the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy:_The_Spirits_Withinmovie? Its was simply spectacular! BUT the characters looked so good they triggered this effect and people (mainstream people) rejected it saying things like "They had lifeless eyes" or stuff like that. The result? The losses of the movie were over 124 million dollars and the producers bankrupted. It isn't the first time that this has happened and probably wont be the last. So, untill solving the LAST remaining issues of 3d creation we'll be starving for sexy 3d girls doing feats of strength. Im trying to make ourselves a few snacks though:
See ya!CDR

ParticipantIn my opinion the best site is Awefilms with a big advantage over the others. They are the only ones that actually produce fbb-related material in a constant pace. What do I mean by produce? They put time and money to go beyond simply shooting a posing fbb. They organize things for a "greater than the sum of its parts" kind of project. They create scripts and harvest the OTHER abilities of the fbb's like acting and using their fashion sense. Although their fantasy productions have been spaced a bit due to personal matters (nothing bad at all), theres a lot of great fantasy clips in their website (Reality is overrated :P).
Besides that Im doing 3d content for them. 😀
There, my humble opinion,CDR

ParticipantWelcome to the club SinD. All the artists that ever made anything had encountered agressive criticism. Rational people accept the fact that the universe is complex and wide and embraces points of view diferent from their own to enrich themselves. Irational people cant tolerate diferent models than their own because they percieve them as threats to their current state of mind. They are so insecure that they think (conciously or not) than any idea diferent than their own could break the delicate balance that currently works for them.
Lots of this idea-haters are simply teenagers. At that age they feel as insecure as they can. Go to college and take a look at the relationships there. Agressiveness there is often an effort to have their models "approved" by society. If they develop right the teenagers insecure feelings would be replaced by one "I approve myself" idea, If not the adult would continue to battle his own teen-demons until they win the fight (If ever).
What can you do as an artist? Make sure you're in the appropiate company before speaking up. Noone in their right mind would scream a goal in the stadium when surrounded by opponents. Take a look at your surroundings and study the people around you. Make sure they are healty peaceful and MATURE people. Society still fails in making mind-healty people and we all have to battle our inner demons with the help of family, friends, therapists and ourselves.
Peace and good luck.CDR
