By contrast, the UK (and especially my area) seems dead as far as buff ladies is concerned.  I have seen the occasional cute bicep or nice calf (I recall a middle-aged female rambler – hiker for US readers – with her husband on holiday last year in the Cotswolds who was wearing cropped leggings showing-off some impressive calves, but oterwise, very little.
