ParticipantWell, if you want a gem of wisdom, Steve had the best one when after the natural gal lost out w/o placing at all. Paraphrasing him, he suggested that by going to the mall and just watching the people going by puts things in perspective. Yes, you might not have placed in the upper echelons of the contest, but in comparison to 99.9 percent of the rest of the population, you're physically super superior like no other – take pride in that achievement, you've earned it.
That's spot-on. Whilst the UK isn't as fat as the US, we're fatter than most of our European neighbours, much to my shame. It never ceases to amaze me that, whilst I am a couple or three pounds heavier for my (admittedly small, due to disability) size than would be ideal, by comparison to many people, I'm skeletal!
For me, half the attraction is that these women are unlike almost all women one sees on a regular basis – most of whom, if under 35 or so tend either to be thin and frail-looking, or overweight and often downright blubbery.

ParticipantWell..Layla and Diana they experimented similar situations of life. for example, Diana is a little discriminated by some boys for her condition. but she is enamored of a boy in particular. This boy is the small brother of Sandra.
Layla tries to encourage it.
Layla and Diana suffering certain similar situations.
Is interests that serious flank of his lives for me.Btw, the names girls are in this order: Layla/left corner, Momo/center & Diana, the blonde tank/right corner 🙂
It had to be about love! ::) ;D

ParticipantWell, don’t feel too bad that you were unable to see it, I recorded it and finally, got time to watch it.
Jeese Louise, I’ve seen far better programs on this subject then this one. Outside of the moments w/ Kristy, Colette or the natural gal prepping for their contests (w/o outside voice over commentary by the female narrator for the piece), the rest was a pile of psychological analysis garbage that I could have easily done without. Kinda reminded me of the short-short segment on FBBing that National Geographic channel ran as a part of its Taboo series (and if I’m not mistaken, the same psychologist from the MSNBC one was involved with that one, too.) I would have far and away prefer to hear more from Steve Wennerstrom or even Bill Dobbins, then what they offered as so-called insight into the niche-lifestyle environment of FBBing.
If they really wanted to give the audience a thumbnail view of what it's like to be a FBBr, they could have used a documental lifestyle-training format – i.e. how TLC/Discovery covered Joanna Thomas.
I suppose the only thing you could say in their defence is that the title does suggest an analysis rather than straight documentary.

ParticipantReally? If you frequent these forums, I guess it means you like female muscles. So according to your logic, all the ladies who spend 20 hours a week in the gym, training and building their bodies, are idiots too? Unless they win the Olympia of course, then they're all right… right?
Sorry, but I don't 'get' this kind of attitude. I train hard and I've been doing so for years. I'm also a personal trainer, so I know a bit about the discipline, the dedication and the sacrifices needed to achieve any kind of success in sports. It's friggin' hard.
There's plenty of idiots in this world. People who strive for greater level of achievements are not amongst them.
I can't say I understand the "idiots" viewpoint either. I suspect that the Olympic Games are like some hobbies – you either "get" them in terms of liking them or understanding the appeal, or you don't.

ParticipantVery sad to hear of her loss. Perhaps activities such as BBing are put in perspective by such events?

ParticipantNot knowing anything about her, I was preparing for a nasty experience when she spoke on the "Maury" clip, and I got a wonderful surprise – a feminine voice and beautiful smile to go with incredible brawn! 8)

ParticipantWow! Polarised views or what!? 😮 ::)
I don't think the Olympic spirit is that of rampant nationalism (it was in Berlin's Games of 1936, but that's a different matter). Yes, there are always going to be drug cheats, but the true spirit is that of competing, of measuring yourself against others and trying to improve your performance. Citius, altius, fortius, remember?

ParticipantSadly the genetic condition that causes people to be super-tall can lead to premature death.
RIP. :'(
