Thanks for the link. By the sound of it, they’ve been using outdated measures, and have been employing unnecessary ‘redundancy’ by specifying BMI as well as bodyfat percentage AND minimum weights. It seems almost as though they’ve been setting women up to fail by requiring female recruits to have unrealistically-low body weight, thereby preventing them from adding muscle, and then saying “these women show that female recruits aren’t sufficiently strong for front-line roles”.

She’s very impressive, and it’s surprising to me, despite the size of its population, that India has produced someone like this due to the very patriarchal way in which many areas are still run.

Thanks – as a Brit who doesn’t normall follow celebrities, I don’t really know much about these people. I suppose if it helps her career then it makes sense, hence why I felt that, assuming that it was her decision, it’s none of our business. Pity, though.

Oh well, it’s up to her what she does with her body. It’s really nothing to do with us if she decides to lose weight and concentrate on being thin, I suppose. Really, the only concern I have is whether it’s what she wants or whether her husband likes that and pressures her to make herself thin against her preference.
