ParticipantI know what you're saying Lingster – that's what I meant too. We're so used to a post-60s society where skimpy clothing is acceptable that the morals of an earlier generation seem antiquated and (in this case frustrating). What I meant was that it would be cool to compare her physique with modern-day fitness competitors/fbbs in modern-day clothing.
I do, however, as I said, have an enormous amount of respect for anyone with the guts to step outside of what contemporary society says is acceptable because of a firm conviction that the moral or accepted code or philosophy needs to change, whatever area of life that may be in. For a woman in a highly patriarchal society to do what Ms Leers did in building her body as she wanted must have taken great courage. I wonder what she would make of fitness and FBB today?cpbell0033944
ParticipantYeah, a good many over at the AAWA news group were really sorry to see her shead the FBBr build and go down the fitness route. **I think** her last work, photo-wise, was with Michael Scott Company doing rather revealing work that left little for the imagination to ponder over . . . 8)
Certainly during her time-period as a FBBr we were graced with a number of gorgeous mighty-mites, such as Sue Price, Droit Kernes, Meral Ertunc, Caron Hospedales and Susan Myers.
You mentioning Susan Myers reminds me of a piece of footage on YouTube of the Montel Williams programme from the mid-1990s with various FBBs as guests. Williams asks Myers how much she bench presses. She replies "270." Williams eyebrows shoot-up onto the top of his bald head, and his response is something like "Most guys can't touch 270." Susan looks straight at him, and, with a sassy, confident tone of voice, says "That's because they're not trying hard enough." 8) ;D
My response: "You go girl!" ;Dcpbell0033944
ParticipantTrue vintage femuscle – unfortunately the desperately frumpy clothes hide what I imagine would have been a very impresive lady :'(. Still, she was obviously a pioneer and I raise my glass to her. Thanks Lingster.

ParticipantWOW! 😮
What a pity she retired – she was (is?) a me-sized FBB! Sexy eyes! Incredible body! Why am I typing in short bursts with exclamation marks?! Is this the Ralabate Effect?! ;D ::)cpbell0033944
ParticipantCan't say I'm a fan of the tattoos either, or her slightly odd rictus grin, but her muscles! 😮
cpbell0033944
ParticipantIt's understandable . . . 😉
And its on-topic for this forum, albeit there has been a rather lengthy thread concerning it, tho not added to since this past May '06. So rather then have another start up again, I've merged your post into it and have bumped it up, too. 8)
Thankyou Alex. Sorry that I missed this older discussion.
Oh, and y498yates – I agree with you. If I'm sensible, I know that Jess doesn't quite look like WW facially (she's gorgeous, but not dark and brooding enough). I therefore tend to lean towards Irina Molokova, who is, in my opinion, physically and facially perfect, but I don't think she speaks English, whereas Jelena does. My point in rather mischievously posting photos of Jess and L**** is to show (as if I'm not already preaching to the converted) why having a stick insect actress as WW would be such a catastrophic mistake. ::)cpbell0033944
ParticipantKulli,
I'm not quite as keen on this as your previous purple posting (apologies for excessive use of letter p), but, given that I was smitten by that one, it still means that I like this one. A lot. She's shmexy!cpbell0033944
ParticipantCan I just say that I'm not on familiar territory when it comes to Comic characters; however, I do have strong views on how this character ought to be portrayed, though. Sorry if you feel I'm sticking myoar in where it isn't wanted. She is The Amazon Princess, so she definely needs to be buff. I know that I post a lot on her, and I'm sorry if I've mised a previous post on this, but I'd love to see Jess Biel take the role.
I was really prompted to post this because I heard that L*****y L***n was in contention, and I was compelled to scream out:NO!!!!
Just to illustrate, which of the following ladies looks most appropriate as a female superhero?
Skinny Linds?

ParticipantOn the theme of guys who must be SERIOUSLY uncomfortable about their masculinity (possibly because they don't know the difference between masculinity and machismo); just check this out (about Jess, obviously):
Question: what is with this chick? She has a really pretty face. She just needs to slim down. She is too muscular. But why???
Answer: either she's got one of those hard-nosed quasi dyke mothers whose husbands crawl to their every sick demeaning dykish demand. Or she's daddy's little girl and daddy really wanted him a Biel Boy. All this gym work is clearly behaviour designed to please others rather than herself. If she de-butched, she'd find herself opening movies rather than playing second fiddle to bimbos. I mean, she seems like a smart enough girl. But at this point she's just not convincing as a woman. Remember her dancing down the hall in her underwear in The Rules of Attraction? That was peak Biel for me. Who would have thought a Hollywood babe would have fallen into a downward spiral of … exercise?
The thing that depresses me about this is that the idiot I'm quoting is a fellow Brit. 😮 :'( Still, many British men read "Nuts" and "Zoo", two knuckle-dragging men's magazines, so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised.
All this gym work is clearly behaviour designed to please others rather than herself.
Don't you just love it when these people feel qualified to pass comment on the psychological motives of people they've never met!

ParticipantOMG Alex, I thought Isabelle Turrell was a knockout, but gee whiz, Amanda is incredible. I must admit, I veer between preferring the slightly less big, fitness look one day, and preferring maximum muscularity and just revelling in daydreams of being carried in huge, sexy arms the next… 😮 8)
Sorry, where was I? 😀 8) Oh yes, I was going to say that, when I'm in the mood for a sleeker physique, Amanda will be one of those I look to. She's got strangely bewitching eyes, hasn't she? Very intense and catlike. Very sexy. It also occurs to me that she would be a good example of a lady who could help convert sceptics to the world of female muscle – she has a less 'extreme' look, a more 'classically acceptable mainstream' physique, but with definite muscle to get 'em used to the idea of properly buff ladies. I'll have to add her to my mental list of those to mention by way of an introduction forsomebody into this world of femuscle, as well as to my Goddesses list. 🙂
