ParticipantNot flexing any ammo at all – just defending fact from your mumbo-jumbo about "reality is subjective" – at the quantum level it may be, but not at the FBB level. 😉 I have been here for nearly three years enjoying most FBBers, but object to being told that my dislike for this individual makes me less worthy than you. On that note, I withdraw again from this discussion and suggest it should be locked as it's going nowhere.

ParticipantYou don't need to be a scientist, all you need is to be well read. Articles on genetics are pretty easy to find in periodicals like Scientific American, Journal of the Americam Medical Association, Nature, even Wired. The PBS series NOVA has done multiple shows on it.
This is not subjective, it is quantifiable and repeatable. Its not theory, its measured and observed.
An I'd just like to say that I AM a scientist. I hold an Honours degree in Biology and a Masters in Biomedical research. If missmonstermuscles wants to argue with me on science, well, better bring your best ammo.

ParticipantReality is subjective
…and perception is relativeComing out of self-imposed exile to say "Not in science it ain't!"

ParticipantAnd most genetic "mutations" also come with serious downsides. Myostatin hypertrophy that a subject doesn't outgrow, (it usually manifests in childhood and disappears by late childhood) is accompanied by severe heart muscle damage. Its not just the show muscles that overdevelop, but ALL muscles, including the heart which is in its entirety.
The world isn't some comic book where a chemical, serum, radiation or insect bite creates a muscle freak that lives a normal, healthy life amongst us, except when they rip off their shirt.
You tweak a gene, it doesn't effect just one thing.
EXACTLY. If it were that simple, we'd all be genetically engineered by now. A lot of it is down to gene expression modulation, which is an immensely complex area.

ParticipantNow THAT's what a Pro FBBer should look and sound like. Perhaps there is an argument to be made forthe Pro category to be an elite one in which only those who can get huge without looking and sounding like men can compete. 8) 😉
