ParticipantWhere FBBs with low "husky" voices are concerned, I have to go case-by-case. If her voice sounds "natural" (that is, she'd sound that way whether she was muscular or not), then that's OK, and can even be sexy sometimes. But when they do sound like the result of steroid abuse (e.g. Nicole Bass), then I don't care for it.
I'll add my thumbs up to Dave's comment, also.
Joanna Thomas is the perfect example of the wrong voice. There was that show about her on Discovery Channel, I think. The first time I heard her talk, she sounded the gay guy who lives up the block from me. He readily admits to being what he calls a "flamer". You should see him on Gay Pride Day. 😮 But he has this deep voice with total feminine inflection to it. It's like James Earl Jones and Richard Simmons rolled together. Unfortunately, Joanna Thomas sounds like that, too.
And Tina Lockwood is the perfect example of the perfect combination. She had this impossibly massive body and incredible strength, but her voice was still a woman's, and very pleasant to hear.

ParticipantI agree with the opinions expressed in the video, but not just for women. Bodybuilding in general has gotten insane. It used to be about sculpting and building a "perfect" body. A Grecian god or goddess come to life.
Then Ahnold came along and it became about just getting huge, like him. That bled over into female competition in the '90s, probably because the judges had come from male bodybuilding. They only knew huge and freakish and had no concepts of sculpted and graceful by that time.
Someone responded earlier with "isn't that the reason to lift, to get bigger?" No, not all the time. This sport started out being about grace. Where's the grace in just walking up to the heaviest weight you can find and lifting it over and over? There's no technical ability in that, or artistic vision. It boils and devolves the sport down to "<grunt> Mongo lift!"
My preference has always been for strong and athletic in look. This even includes natural mesomorphs like Tina Lockwood, with emphasis on natural. Its when they have to resort to chemicals that their femininity fades away and they just become guys in bikinis.
I wish I had a way to post a picture I have that, to me, sums up what female bodybuilding is about. Its Marjo Selin standing in front of a brick wall, you see her from the knees up. She is wearing a brown leather jacket that is open in the front. She has one hand on a hip holding one side of the jacket further than the other. Her body, from her neck to her waist is a perfect bas relief of muscles with just a hint of sinew in her exposed forearms and around her lower hips and upper thighs.
To me, that is probably the single most sexy, erotic, attractive and incredible picture I have ever seen of a female body builder. And its what, IMHO, professional bosybuilding should still be about.

ParticipantI've always found his figures more than adequately muscled. A friend has built a couple of them. They very impressive when finished by an expert figure builder. Very sexy, too.

ParticipantNow that's what I call a woman!
Too bad I don't drink, I'll probably never meet one. :-[

ParticipantExcuse me for a moment……
(quickly draws curtains so no one sees the rotary phone in the basement, 400 vinyl albums on the shelves, 65 cassettes in a rack and the PC with a 5.25 drive still in it.)

Participant[font=times new roman]A friend sent this to me the other day, and thought I’d share this with the rest…
I’m sure it’s probably a re-post, but wasn’t sure.
*Sighs* What a lovely depiction. 😉
One of my favorite posters in my superheroine collection. I was lucky enough to get one of these back then because I occasionally helped out at a comic shop. The look on the face of the male bodybuilder with red trunks is great. That's Lou Ferrigno's friend Franco Columbo. The blonde guy leaning on the fence was a biggie also, but his name slips my mind.

ParticipantBeing a car guy, I noticed the artist must be a fan of '60s customs. The car in the Return of issue is a hard top version of of the custom Olds Toronado that Joe Mannix drove in the first season of "Mannix".
IRC, it was designed by George Barris, of Batmobile fame.

ParticipantI don't know why I can't post to the original thread anymore. Lingster posted a test message OK, but I just can't. I click reply and get a blank page.
My original intention was for just one more story concerning Lillyia & Craig, a final showdown piece with Cassandra. Because of the story "writing itself" on this last chapter, I see at least 2 more chapters. Maybe 3.
I'm a big believer in characters getting a proper beginning, middle and end. So, at some point, Craig and Lillyia will be put to rest.
No fear, I already have another character in mind for a new series. And she'll be more to the liking of the average Amaz0ns reader. Actually, her first installment may appear before I get L&C figured out.

ParticipantYep. I can post on other threads, too. I just did one to the SF VI Chun Li thread, but I can't post to my own thread of "Death in a Museum".

ParticipantI think Chun Li looks fantastic in 3D. On the other hand, the person(s) playing her in both clips need to be shot.
