I'm sorry if I caused offence in what I said – we may disagree in matters of politics, but I hope you appreciate that, though I sometimes let my views get the better of me, I'm a huge fan of yours and have no personal beef whatsoever.  I know that seems an odd thing to say here, but I wanted to put it on the record.

No personal offense taken; I'm proud and happy to have you as a fan.  I simply get impatient with what I consider to be unfair criticism of people I admire; and I do happen to admire Sarah Palin.

Very well done!!  I love to imagine that's what she looks like under those conservative suits.

Oh, and cpbell0033944: Elaine Lafferty, former editor-in-chief of Ms. magazine, a Democrat and no fan of Gov. Palin's politics, would take issue with your characterization of her as "dumb as a bag of hammers":

It's difficult not to froth when one reads, as I did again and again this week, doubts about Sarah Palin's “intelligence,” coming especially from women such as PBS's Bonnie Erbe, who, as near as I recall, has not herself heretofore been burdened with the Susan Sontag of Journalism moniker. As Fred Barnes—God help me, I'm agreeing with Fred Barnes—suggests in the Weekly Standard, these high toned and authoritative dismissals come from people who have never met or spoken with Sarah Palin. Those who know her, love her or hate her, offer no such criticism. They know what I know, and I learned it from spending just a little time traveling on the cramped campaign plane this week: Sarah Palin is very smart.

    Read the whole thing.

Just because you disagree with a person's politics doesn't make them stupid.

I'm pretty sure it's this image, just with a black background: http://www.dcmstudiosonline.com/galleries/tetsuko/tko_g_clr22.html

    Yep, that's the image.

Well, if that is a homemade T-shirt I'm very flattered.  If it isn't – if it's a bootleg and someone's making money off of it – then there's a problem.  Because I haven't produced or aurthorized any Tetsuko merchandise.  (And you would have heard about it here, believe me!)

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get in touch with this lifter?  I'd just like to know where she got that shirt.

Check out this sketch of Fairchild recently posted by Jebriodo on deviantART!  (They changed their "share" codes on dA and I can't figure out how to put a thumbnail in a forum like this that uses BBCode.)

??? Quantum Leap? are they seriously bringing that back? didn't they conclude that show successfully? or is this someone making 'fanisodes'? I'm all confused.

The first paragraph of the producer's casting call does describe it as a "fan-based production", so it looks to me like it is a "fanisode".

What a shame the FBB part didn't work out.

Nice work!  Glad to see you've licked the pic-posting problem; we're all looking forward to more.

Um, I think they're morphing her larger in the first ad, or at least making her more cut.

If so, that's a hopeful sign; I'd have expected them to morph her smaller.

Taking this back to FBBing, the same thing needs to happen.  The women need to cme together and threaten to market themselves as a breakaway series or organisation, with more commercial attractivenes for TV, sponsors, magazines etc. (maybe strict drug-testing, diffrent presentation or judging criteria) as any short-term ifficulty in changing training or approach to suit a fresh approach would be repaid handsomely).  Let's face it, there is a golden opportunity now with all these attractive young FBBers getting established – a new series with the Kira Neumans, Cindy Phillips and Megan abshires would, I'm sure be more attractive to the casual viewer and fan of Figure-type physiues than the extremes of the Iris Kyle-type appearance which has its devotees but is unlikely to attract new fans.

I seem to remember, many long years ago  ;D  an organization created for just such a purpose: promoting women's bodybuilding because the major federations weren't doing a satisfactory job.  IIRC it was known as the American Federation of Women Bodybuilders (AFWB), and it was eventually absorbed into the IFBB – with the results we're seeing today.

Maybe it is time to try it again. It certainly couldn't make the situation worse…
