Actually, ChrisCross is a male. For whatever reason, he has a photo of a woman as his avatar.
BTX, are you a member of that message board? I'd like to ask ChrisCross what he charges for a sketch but, really don't want to join that board just to ask.

ParticipantI've heard that when the X-Men movies started going, Marvel directed all its artists not to draw Wolverine as "ugly" anymore. And so now if you look at him he's consistently very good-looking. In the Astonishing X-Men title, he's even drawn to look a bit like Hugh Jackman. So there's a danger to letting TV people and movie people dictate the presentation of these iconic characters, because they clearly don't understand that the wellspring of interest is the comic books, and that as long as they generate quality interpretations for video distribution, the consumer audience will at least equal the comic audience, which probably works out to a few million people. And today a few million is more than enough – when you hear about a movie grossing $100 million at the box office, that means 12 million people went to see it.
I really hate it when the tail wags the dog in these cases. The reason Superman was "killed" off in the comics was to postpone Clark marrying Lois, so that they would still be single when "Lois & Clark" premiered. This way they could have the comic & tv versions marry simultaneously. Dumb.

ParticipantLingster, on the main page, you wrote "Note to Viacom:Wonder Woman is mad at you" or something like that. Um, why would she be angry at Viacom?

ParticipantYou protest much, it makes you wonder why you would have such a problem with him being something other than white. What with each superhero having 5 or 6 different versions of him or herself and all that alternate reality jazz it can't be because you believe a character should stay the same. Even lex himself was once a balding old man, is now on this show a buff greek dude. Before I end my little rant I just want to make it clear that I'm not calling you a racist or anything. It just brought to mind the Micheal Clarke Duncan playing Kingpin argument. From my point of view i just dont see the big deal.
heres hoping i dont start a flame thingy!
Tara_CrossI may be the type of loser that wants white characters to stay white, straight characters to stay straight, etc. but, I'm not the type of loser that flames people on message boards.

ParticipantThanks-I had hoped that these guys would've learned from the mistakes made by Great Eastern, back when they held cons at Javits-rent the bigger space. Obviously, they didn't. Maybe next year.

ParticipantSometimes I wonder why I even bother.
