GAH! That's it!? More man, we need more!
😉
I think I'm going to enjoy this one. I guess I need to ask that dreaded question: Do you have an ETA?
DevonCoryParticipantMissed this one. Great work as always.
DevonCoryParticipantThis sounds like a potential cluster-f#$% of an idea. I can't even get one person to give me 10USD for a commission, how in the world do you think that you could get 10 people to do that?
Indeed. I guess I put too much faith in people's honesty and generosity. I don't mind paying for quality work; I've commissioned artwork for years. I guess there's just not that many people around who see things as I do.
No matter then.
DevonCoryParticipantGood ones Gettar. You really need to awe us with some muscle growth though. 😉
Keep it up.
DevonCoryParticipantWow, that second one is a-may-zing! 😮
I have to agree here. The first one is good, but second has something special.
DevonCoryParticipantAnd? :-
Indeed.
It's been a while since I last was a member on this site; are the All-Growth serie available as downloadable .pdf files?
DevonCoryParticipant<Snip>
So in my inventory I have "Original Hands, Feet, Chest, Legs"In my directory I have files called "beth hands, feet, chest, legs" and also "female upperbody, female lower body, female hands" the second one symbolizing Eshme's.
So with that little bonus that came with Eshme's. The mod by default uses "female upper body, female lower body" so by simply replacing these files with eyecandy. I can switch meshes and have the women use Eshme's scrawny body, while my character uses the bigger, thicker, fuller body.
Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure I understand how you do it.
Which .nif files are you replacing with Exnem's? The 'Beth' files? If so, it means that if you remove any armor or clothes you'll default back to Eshme, up until you re-equip the proper Exnemized body part. Is that so?
DevonCoryParticipantWhose going to pay the artist?
Everyone. That's the point: to allow a group of people to join together and share out the cost of a commissioned piece of artwork. The fact is that many, if not most of us, can't enjoy quality custom artwork. It's just too expensive. Buying such artwork as a group would be an easy way to reduce the basic cost. An 100$ pin-up is something you can usually afford only once in a while. But if the price is reduced to 10$ because there's 9 other people buying, it's much more of a bargain.
How does the money get divied up?
Equally between the buyers, where the buyers are everyone who decided to join up for a certain commission. You don't have to join up if you don't like what'S being proposed for a certain commission. Sometime you can have 20 buyers and sometime you can have only five. That's what you agree to when you join up.
How do you deal with international currencies, since artists come from all over the world?
PayPal is the obvious choice here, taking care of all international considerations.
Who will continue to keep paying the artists if the original person does not have the funds, or do not wish to pay?
The group of buyers. Of course trust is very important here and bad payers would quickly get blacklisted by other fellow buyers. If the artist produce the artwork, the group has to pay. It's that simple. If (let's say), three people refuse to pay, the other buyers have to pick up the bill. And if nobody is willing or able to do so, then the project leader for a certain commission is the one responsible.
How will payment be handled? Paypal? Checks? Money order?
Again PayPal would probably be the easiest way to this. Most everyone had access to a Credit Card and it's fairly easy for an artist to set things up on his side. As far as how payment would be handled, some arrangement would have to be taken between the buyers and the artist. As someone who's paid for a few thousand dollars in commissions in the past, I can say that most often it's 50% up front and 50% once the artwork is completed.
Of course, let's keep in mind that this is a very rough draft. That's why it's important for people interested in such a concept to discuss it at length.
DevonCoryParticipantFor instance, my default Oblivion body uses Eshme's body by default for all the other females in the Oblivion world. While my character uses Eyecandy which has a much bigger and thicker physique than the others. I hope SOMEONE here knows how to mod so that way it can be done properly.
Interesting. I seem to remember an old OBSE mods which allowed for such a thing. Is this what you're talking about here, or do you know something I don't? 😉
I forgot as well, the Guts body has also modeled a six back of abs on the body. So when you view it on its profile there are actual indentations where the muscle separation is. Sounds like a keeper in my book.
Nice. I guess I should fire up NifSkope and take a look in greater detail.
DevonCoryParticipantAre those new textures Collector? They look good to me. Much more cut and defined than what we have access to right now. I'm curious to see the arms and legs though.
As a side note I wouldn't use the Guts body. Maybe stick to the default Fighter HGEC or maybe even the EBE (a WIP available through the EyeCandy forums). Right now the Guts body is too bulky, not defined enough. While it could look spectacular with good textures, I'm afraid it might be too imposing. We have to remember that if we change the female model, every female character in the game will have that body. I might be interested in having my character or my companions looking muscular, but not necessarily everyone else.
((Modding notes: Of course, while male and female characters have access to single meshes, they may have different textures when using custom races. But that's something else.))
