Don't despair Double-O-Tree, it might've been resolved to more your liking in the latter book. :- And I misremembered a bit–she was alive (more or less) in the beginning of Earth X

Agreed, B.K. These little teases are cruel and unusual.

cover) fighting pointless (from the characters' perspectives) never-ending battles in an alternate dimension.

Yeah, this is obviously not the contest for anyone with only one character in development that s/he is too possessive of to share with a professional artist in a mutually beneficial professional agreement.

But before you pass, think about this: How often does an opportunity like this come around for comic book writers? When will you be able to send out a comic book proposal that is guaranteed to be reviewed (barring your sending out a mess of typos and disregarding the rules) at no monetary cost to you–no hiring a proposal artist, letterer, etc.? How many good comic book artists do you "know" now, who will work on your comic book series with you, right now, for nothing?

Let's go with the best-case scenario, Collector_2–you win the contest. Franchesco draws the series and its indicia reads, Copyright 2008 "The_Collector_2" and Franchesco. The mini-series sells well enough for Image/Shadowline to offer you another one, and/or the featured character becomes a valuable licensing commodity (which I assume is the reason for your guardedness). You have to share some dough and creative credit with the artist who helped get the attention you're now banking on by drawing your story. How would your arrangement be any different from those of some of the most popular comics out today, from Invincible to Y the Last Man? (It's hardly likely that all copyright-sharing writer/artist teams, Independent or Big Two [Three? Four?], knew each other before an editor bought the writer's property and hired an artist to work on it.) Even if you hated Franchesco personally, would you pull a…DC boner, and simply not make use of a popular co-owned property (as that company has done with Milestone Comics'/Warner Bros. TV's "Static Shock") out of–I don't even know what to call it–spite? "I wrote this comic book–he didn't do anything but draw it!" He couldn't use the character without your profiting, you couldn't use it without his (is that the greater issue?), but even that wouldn't be legally binding in perpetuity. If you're making the kind of bank that you want to keep to yourself, you could buy him out.

If "The_Collector_2's Super-Heroine" became a success enough for you to make a living with it tomorrow, would that 50% be too much to share with today's stranger who put it on the map?

I'm not trying to convince you to enter!  😉

I'm getting to the point of why brothing to work out.

I hope you're just being melodramatic, because if the world's most pointless comic strip can take that away from you (or even serve as the last straw), it must not really mean much.

    Jon's expression…

Now that's funny! The face of any Garfield character equated with expressiveness. 😛

Connie : Here Have a feel!boing(Flexes arm Huge biceps pops up,Jon eye widen…

    Those eyes get wider?

    …and he drools).

Libidinous drooling is frowned upon by the…syndicates…shhhh… 8)

No, I was referring to your initial expression of being unable to dig Isabelle any more.  I was concerned that you might feel that I was saying "she hasn't changed; Grandmaster's seeing things" or something like that, when I most definetly wasn't.

But I never "yayed" or "nayed" Ms. Turrell's looks. You're confusing me with The_Collector_2.

I wondered (publicly, which I probably shouldn't have) if The_Collector_2's assertion that Turrell wasn't attractive to him(?) anymore was A) because her face has radically changed because of her bulking up or B) because the lead images in this thread simply were not as flattering as previous ones he may seen (by nature of the location of the photography and her conditioning–not being "cut").

None of my business. As always, just "talkin'"… ;D

Again, no slight is intended towards Masschine's work here (these disclaimers are getting tedious), but it is a far different thing to be videotaped off-season in front of a yellowish wall that washes out one's skin tone, and photographed post-contest with a tan, a "sexy" hair color, and meticulously delineated, complementary eyebrows (4-5 years ago). You tell me:

Well, it'd be more cost-effective than having on-site hydrostatic weighing! (Although maybe not as photo-worthy!)

Now, I'd just like to state that I'm not criticising Grandmaster nor disrespecting his views.

My views…? I think you mean my vision. (I didn't say anything–as usual–except to ask for a little more passion when discussin' a lady.)

    Nightcat.

I like the way you prevaricate. ;D On the strength of Adela Garcia being infinitely more interesting to me than Jacqueline "Nightcat" Tavares could have ever been, I hope Ian's comic does better than Marvel's throwaway.

Okay. But in this era of rampant pirating (he said, posting a plethora of copywritten images on multiple web forums) I can see where WPW would want to keep some of their intellectual property exclusive somehow (aren't the wpw.net photos still downloadable?), especially if Mr. Jentz is trying to pay some bills with images that may not have great moneymakers in the past.

Such sissy crap on a site devoted to talking about physically fit women! "Don't favorite the lady's photos because she may run off the internet, and I'll blame myself." "A man sexualized me! Waaah!"

    ::) ::) ::)
