They're scared, cpbell. It's almost funny. They're scared of this pretty "girl" with muscles. I don't know why. Is it because they don't have any, and thus she is "more of a man" than they? "She's huge!" ::) Despite their fear, she must still be attractive to them–or else they would ignore her. It's one thing to not be attracted to physically strong women or women with apparent muscularity (diffrent things turn peoples' cranks), but it's another thing to ridicule someone out of fear and ignorance (simply not knowing)–as these "pop culture commentators" do to Evangeline Lilly from Lost, Serena Williams, and surely others.

You know if these folks saw Biel in person, they'd be running her down for an autograph, at the very least, the hypocrites.

I'd like to collectively grab these nitwits by the shoulders and shake some sense into them, screaming "Stop being afraid, people!" at the top of my lungs!

Mike, you sir, are a visionary. All of your photos and subjects over the years have been great, but your shots of these beautiful Black women bodybuilders and fitness competitors are simply exquisite.

    Thank you.

I look forward to everything Warren writes and draws! This story doesn't look like it'll be in any way comforting to the superhero or gutsy chick fan…

1./ I don't imagine for one second that she lacks the ovaries to confront these sorts of things.  She strikes me as being a confident person…

Being "constantly" followed around and photographed (on one's downtime) would eventually wear on anyone, formidible eggs or no. 😀 I'm not suggesting Biel's any kind of frail flower (psychologically), and I understand that suffering the paparazzi is considered the price of fame in most circles, but man, it's got to get tiring…

She looks scary, her eyes are glowing…

We all know when this issue hits the stands, no one is going to be discussing what her eyes look like…

Yes, Grandmaster, I appreciate that some of the photos I've put on this thread are paparazzi-type.  To be quite honest, I'm a great big hypocrite about this – I dislike the way in which the shots are obtained, but some of the best shots of Jess looking buff are obtained in this way.

Looking at the last ones in the series where she's packed up and apparently leaving the beach, she looks extremely pissed (even behind the shades, her body language says, "Die, f*****s!")

The latest photos, however, are screenshots from an appearance Jess made on MTV shortly after Blade Trinity posing with a bow and arrow, showing-off her sexy arms and shoulders…

    "Filthy…but genuinely arousing."–Mrs. Glick, The Simpsons 😉

As for your comment "buff got good to her", I'm not sure exactly what you mean…I've read quotes from her where she says how she missed the musculature after she had to let some of it atrophy for "The Illusionist", so it's fairly obvious that she enjoys being strong…

That's exactly what "buff got good to her" means. She's feeling herself. Okay, I'll stop with the slang now–it means she likes how she looks and feels. If anything, that's what "matters" to me–I could care less about her career…

…but I wouldn't say that its helped her career; probably the opposite, in fact.

In all fairness, an actor's appearance can adversely affect the perception of a character (Audience: "Why is she afraid of this guy?! She's bigger than he is!" [To the screen]: "Kick his @$$, honey?!"), so a director's aversion to a physically impressive actress can't always be considered chauvanism.

Cruel (for briefness). Cool (for "positivity").

No face-time for anyone other than Nelson and Sieple…is it kind of weird to recognize people's bodies without seeing their faces? :-

If that's a supervillain I'm down with that. But that menacing portrayal doesn't shed a good light on fbb.

Same 'ol, same 'ol. She looks suitably juiced and…intensely focused…really, what's the threat to female bodybuilding? That does exist.
