ParticipantIf you scroll down Hollywoodtuna's page on Jessica, you'll find another article where they allege a female friend is groping her. Jessica's in better shape there. Perhaps that's the same dark-haired girl who touched her – she's shorter in the beach pic. So if it's not the same girl then there's something about this starlet.

ParticipantDoesn't bother me. I can't even see their faces, so…whatever… 🙂

ParticipantOh wow! So that's what a 6 foot tall WW looks like! Yes, that height is proper for the character!

Yeah, but Bucky's return was written better than Jason Todd. Now these News Gods are getting wacked left and right.

ParticipantAnd the process continues! Shannyn Sossamon (Knight's Tale, One Missed Call, various horror films) tried out as well. The writers loved her but the director said 'no'. IMDB states he's 5'8". I don't think she'll be 'growing' much more into the role. It's a loss for those who loves the face of Angelina Jolie (who's now too old to fit WB's criteria), they look somewhat similar.

ParticipantJust another victim of DC's annual culling. ALL the NEW GODS are going to die! And next year will be some other poor sap. Last month Wizard mentioned this event in their "Final Crisis" article. Silly rabbits. Sony has over ten "Final Fantasy" games. The 'final' part never stopped them from doing it again.

ParticipantI read that lots of young actors have been trying out for the roles. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live Free or Die with a Hard On, Final Destination 3) was one noted actress to try out. Another is the blonde girl from Grudge 2 (not Arielle Kebbel but the other one).
WB said they want these actors to grow into the roles over time. So I guess they're doing Justice League Jr. and hope they'll grow into Grecian statues? Don't people stop growing in their late teens?

ParticipantI don't know what Avatar is about. But one of the actresses, Michelle Rodriguez, will be spending six months in jail for violating the terms of her sentence.
However, years ago France made a 3-D adventure film called "Kaena: the Prophecy". It was good, but not yet ground-breaking. I know Cameron has been wanting to animate Gunnm a.k.a Battle Angel Alita. But it's been dragged on so long I think a native Japanese take would still be better.
While the war on terror has brought up movies like "The Kingdom" and so on, problems in the Middle East still won't be fully addressed by such films. Actually, Muslim filmmakers and European films have already been addressing the culture clash, and women's issues there. Hollywood is just capitalizing on the war. When this is over they'll go back to films directed at their American audience.

Participant*by which I mean the kind which require special glasses to see "3-dimensional" effects. Which is another case that makes my point. After the success of the first couple of 3-D flicks in the '50s, those things were cranked out almost by the yard, until the box-office dried up for them, and Hollywood decided that the public had grown tired of 3-D. When the reality was more likely that most of the later movies that tried to capitalize on the success of the first3-D movies were simply bad.
Concerning 3-D films, I'd say it's bad material that's to blame. I watched Surf's Up and that film was a young adult story using animation best directed at younger kids. Wallace & Gromit's "Were-Rabbit" film knew how to peddle to all ages, still using old claymation techniques. Valiant is better for the European audience, as well as Flushed Away. They knew their target audience. Disney is a conglomerate that wants to sell to the whole world. Thus they sacrifice many cultural traits when they animate foreign stories.

ParticipantThe article from Variety doesn't assure me well of WB's rebuttle. While they stand commited to leading women it doesn't show that they are committed to leading action heroines or superheroines. The article failed to mention "Million Dollar Baby", which earned Oscar praise. But they saw fit to mention "The Reaping", even though that film's performance speaks for itself. :-[

Teenage girl flicks, romantic comedies, and supernatural dramas don't translate to action heriones to me. Mentioning Watchmen doesn't help because that's an ensemble picture and we know the leading characters aren't women. Justice League? Get it done first. Same with Wonder Woman. Get it done before you start hyping.
So far it's just co-stars, comedies, romance, and drama. Same old song. Why was their Sarah Connor Chronicles still delayed? Don't tell me they wanted the actress to try out for WW… ::) They still haven't chosen a script.
