ParticipantThank you all!
Outstanding work as usual. But one thing, Gammora's 16'1" and Okanu's 10'11". Gammora looks like she's a little over 20ft. But, I'm not mad at you look great. Thanks again.
You're welcome. I screwed up on the proportions, it's true. I sketched out a big gal and a little one, then searched through your characters for a large and small one, so I kind of had the horse before the cart there.
But if I do a fanart of your characters, how would I be able to translate height by feet or inches into drawings, where it's usually height by heads? Especially if I want to do side-by-side size comparison?
Well if you were doing fanart of Angel Uriel's characters you would have to figure out how large they are relative each other
(for instance Gamorra should be about one and a half times taller than Okanu)
then draw lines indicating their respective heights, and then divide their heights into heads.
The head measurements on the bigger gal would larger, but they would still both be 8 heads tall (or 9 heads or whatever proportion you usually use).Or you could just fake it like I did, and hope it comes out looking okay.

ParticipantShe's gorgeous! Nice work on the costume details, and the colors.
And she has traps to die for!Jedediah
ParticipantIs it wrong to have muscle women as subject matter if you really like to draw them?
I don't think so.

ParticipantHere is a very nice page of She Hulk by Aaron Lopresti:

ParticipantThese are all very impressive. The second one from the top has legs that look like a Burne Hogarth anatomy study. Love the natural looking gestures. Good work all around.
Indeed. And I think I got the title for your first Time/Newsweek cover story: Paul Gauguin on steroids
BTW, I just got to know: what the hellis it that that superheroine-type girl in the second sketch is lifting?!
Judging from the small pebbles falling from it, I think it's a large boulder…
Eek! My sources are showing! I love Gauguin (Also Gaston Lachaise, who if you guys haven't seen his stuff, I am sure you would dig:
NSFW link: http://images.google.com/images?q=gaston%20lachaise&hl=en&lr=&sa=N&tab=wi ), and I was just cribbing from Hogarth because I was foggy on how the muscles go on the thigh.
Anyway, thank you all for the discerning commentary and feedback. I like the attention to detail you guys pay, as well as the frank admissions of what sort of imagery presses your buttons.
I think the line between art and fetish is pretty blurry- see Gaston above- with art being the level of skill shown in making something, and fetish being an obsessive interest in subject matter, regardless of artistic qualities. And the supergal is lifting a very hastily drawn boulder, I think.

ParticipantYou're all welcome. Except for Rock- sorry you don't have the tablet, man.
Also- I am so flattered: Yatz says he tried out my technique over here:

ParticipantSaw a request from newbie P.S. for a Wilma and Betty drawing, decided to do it practicing Jed's painting tutorial. Failed miserably getting the new technique (and also cheated a bit – no Betty!), but I think this is nice enough.

(Though admittedly, the color isn't as intense on this one.)Jedediah
ParticipantI love that dark panther shine she has. Also, I looked through your site- you have some really fun designs and poses for your gals. Not to mention they are all awe-inspiringly buff! Good stuff!
