    Hey, guys,

I'm glad you've got an invested interest in this one.  And I HAVE been thinking of ways to take the second part.  It's just my attention's been spread many ways at once, and that pesky real life in meatspace ain't helping.

But I haven't abandoned this one at all.  It may take some time, but I'll get to The Stray 2.  Promise.  Kitty-kins hasn't used up her last life at all, meow. =^.^=

Mika-chan's got a very good point.  When I was picked on and belittled a lot as a kid, my dear Dad always told me… "Consider Your Source."

Something to ask, or find out in the meantime:  the bad-mouthers… have THEY drawn or written anything?  ::)

Blues are more than just a mere artform of whining (IMO)…blues, if performed correctly, should have the opposite affect on people.  To the people listening, it offers the thought "man, my life isn't as bad as his/hers, so I'm thankful for what I have."  Also, it helps the person get their feelings out…and most of the time they feel better afterwards.  It's like when you tell someone something that's bothering you…and you feel relieved after you "get it off of you".

Well and good, but I can't jibe that in the face of this nugget of wisdom:

"The blues isn't about feelin' better. It's about makin' other people feel worse and makin' a few bucks while you're at it." — Bleeding Gums Murphy, The Simpsons

    Howdy ho there, neighbors!  ;D

Glad you came out of the lurking shadows and graced us with your comments.  I'm sure we've got all sorts of neat, nice stories that'll fill your itches.

I'd direct you to Lingster's Brawna site, but that's sorta under re-construction right now.  Watch that space.  http://brawna.org

In the meantime, at risk of seeming blatantly self-promoting, I'd like to steer you toward a good starting point for deviantArt's writers 'round here.

In all events, welcome!  Hope you'll post often! 🙂

Whereas some cultures have made complaining and whining into an artform, for example, the blues and some traditional rituals.

Blues:  complaining and whining as an artform.  Never looked at it that way.

Emo rock, grunge, et al, maybe.

And of course there's the 21st century phenomenon of… the blog.

I found this webcomic particularly relevant:

PROS: The mass, the off-season look, and that general massive Morrison magnificence.  ;D

CONS: That look in her eye…  :-[

All the same… great piece o' art.  Shame you're booked with commissions right now…

"Salami, Salami, Baloney" comes from a VERY old Popeye cartoon.  One set where Popeye was playing Aladdin, and a bowing Arabian peasant said that.

And the cute and funny is back with a vengeance.  We need more FMG stories with spit takes.  ;D
