ParticipantFinally sat down and took the time to check that out.
Her smile, personality… and yes, her power. Role model all the way.
To paraphrase StrongBad… "Now that's what I'm talkin' about! That was amazing… I mean she… I… I can't b—… Chi-g-d-b … He—g …"
"… if we ever meet, I'm buyin' her a pizza!" ;D

ParticipantI couldn't care less if William Shakespeare were the author. I don't like leaving any reading feeling depressed and rotten with no apparent hope in sight. And without some sort of relief in chapter 2, I will not recommend this one to anyone else.

ParticipantPffft. Hack.
The Professor from Gilligan's Island built a whole village, a laboratory, explosives, and a pedal car from palm tree fronds, coconuts, and bamboo. 😛

ParticipantTruth is, most times, I do much of my "research" BEFORE I concoct a story idea or plotline. I do that by reading a lot, particularly Time, Newsweek, and even Reader's Digest. That helped quite a bit in the political and scientific angles, particularly with Power Play.
I also had to do quite a bit of checking and double checking with CowProbe and DCM… and I learned quite a bit about Dyna, the Damsel Dynamo when I put my little fan-fictions together. Learning about Mezaros and getting info on their take on Aries was also quite a trip.
Much of my writing, though, comes from that little known reference material known as… daily life. A lot of what I've written my characters do were based on some of my own experiences. Someone once said that one actual live person should have lived enough of life to be able to flesh out up to six characters in a story on that alone. Happily, I think I've been able to beat that.
And there's been the occasional
ripping offhomage to notable quotables written in this forum.I must admit though… I've never eaten my way into research. I mean… CANNED spinach? Phleaugh. X-P Make mine either fresh or frozen.

ParticipantImpressive… very good stuff. I like the ones with Shayne most of all.

Participant🙁 They aren't anything to me. They're just three big red round things.

ParticipantVery nice, pick Fett, very nice pic. But it's now time for JimmyDimples' Standard Issue Befuddled Pondering on One Point:
…what are those three big round things that Mary Jane are shouldering?

ParticipantHey! I just noticed something!
Just in case anyone was interested, DCM posted a one-panel update of Tetsuko on his blog page (Dec 20, 2007)
😮 WOW! AlexG IS a Site Superhero… he didn't just tip us off to DCM art… IT'S FROM THE FUTURE!
Gee! ;D Who won Superbowl 41, Alex? And the Oscars?
… and what made DCM so busy he couldn't update in almost a YEAR?! ???
… I think this is what the quantum physicsts call a Temporal Yesterday Pitchback Occurance (T.Y.P.O.) 😀

Participant😮
That is an unabashed miracle…
The two goons' heads are still intact and unpulped. 😛
Guess T-chan CAN check her strength. Must be intuitive.
Nice little pic, DCM. Hope more comes soon! (And thanks for the tip-off, AlexG!)

Participant-_-;;; and I was totally unaware of this coming out when I started my OWN Amazon invasion story on brawna.org …
Looks interesting… wish I could pick up a copy at our local newsstand.
And a year before the blitz? Hmmh…
Well, maybe they gotta make sure the cat's fed, make sure they got their kids' lunches ready and dinner in the freezer for the microwave, drive them in the sport utility chariot to the boarding school… and you know how hard it is to find a sitter?
