Also, I'm starting a Doris Lessing fan club:

When notified she's won the Nobel Prize for Literature, she says (I think), "Oh, crap" and waves her hand dismissively.

Whatever his shortcomings, Gore stands head and shoulders above the likes of the morally repugnant Jimmy Carter, Mohammed Al-Baradei, Kofi Annan and Yasser Arafat.  Given the apparent recent selection criteria, Al Gore is (along with most of humanity) morally over-qualified for a Nobel Peace Prize.

However, compared to people who really ought to be cited for their service to mankind (including recent Nobel Peace Prize winners Shirin Ibadi and Mumammad Yunus) like most of us Gore is simply unexceptional.

I'm working on that – it's a missing feature from the template I picked, and I'm hoping to have it fixed this weekend.

Boy, the stuff I miss when I'm away from a computer.

When I sent in my idea for Ms. Muscle, I specified that she had to be drawn with muscle, not thin like all the other female heroes with super strength were drawn at the time.

Howard Bender not only drew that story but he also drew the Dial H for Hero entry in Who's Who. It was inked by a different inker, which is why the art looks different than the original story.

    Stay near a computer, then!
Karate Girl: Tengu Wars
.  There are three copies available on Amazon.com.  It's definitely worth your attention if you like FMG.

    Eh now?

Japanese porno mag from the early 90s that features a normal Japanese girl being transformed, panel by panel, into a jacked superhero.  It's pretty stirring.

Yes, there was a better drawing of Ms. Muscle in Who's Who.  She was in the background field and was basically drawn as a normal girl with gigantically-developed arms and shoulders, achieving a slightly comedic effect.

I may be mistaken, but ze fly's most recent post seems to exclusively contain photos of men.
