KeymasterWhile I had almost no knowledge of him prior to this incident, a few minutes of research has convinced me of the need for an Act of Congress making it legal for any American to assault Jonny Fairplay at will.

KeymasterAnd this is why I regard Danny Bonaduce as one of the greatest living Americans:

TMZ: Danny Bonaduce interrupts "Survivor" star Jonny Fairplay as he's introducing an award Tuesday night. Jonny does his signature monkey humping move (as seen in the "Survivor: Pearl Islands" opening) — and things go downhill from there. Fairplay was taken to the hospital, and then to the dentist, where he underwent 2 1/2 hours of surgery. According to Fairplay, the body slam knocked one tooth out and moved three others and he now has to undergo multiple root canals.

KeymasterThis forum is such a wonderful place with so many sweet and thoughtful men and women. I’m regretful for the sour turn, but we can always make it up…
You can't have the ups without the downs.
(Or at least I can't.)

KeymasterTerrific.

KeymasterRedundant topics merged. If an artist has several works to display in a short period of time (i.e. less than a few days), he should do so in one thread.

KeymasterNow that's a real dynamic duo . . . 😉
I can only see the left one.

KeymasterThe problem with setting out to make the world a better place is that human societies arise organically, not through engineering. Their level of complexity exceeds what any person is capable of understanding, and attempts to "redesign" them have consistently resulted in failure. Some of these failures have been very small, i.e. various "Walden Two" experiments, while others have been quite large, i.e. Mao's China. (The large ones tend to leave staggering bodycounts.)
Setting out to make the world a better place is a staggeringly arrogant thing to do. It's the equivalent of saying, "I know the good better than all of these other people, so I will try to advance my version of the good over theirs." When people do this sort of thing on their own through non-coercive means, I have no problem with it. But once they start trying to get laws passed to impose their vision on other people, I think they ought to be taken out and flogged.

KeymasterHe past up the role because he didn't want Superman in the movie to interfere with Superman on smallville and end up getting type casted or something like that.
Christian Bale and Brandon Routh passed up being in the JLA movie because they're worried that if the JLA movie is campy, it will ruin their characters. After Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, no one took Batman seriously. So once Batman Begins came it fixed the Batman image issue, so if JLA ends up being campy…
Well it would be back to square one again.
Right now, the producers aren't really caring about "looks" for the role. They're just trying to get people casted as soon as possible so they could start production because there is a rumor of an actor's strike next year which could end up causing problems for the movie if they don't start by this year or early next year.
Any sourcing on this, buckaroo?
