    Apparently two very large fixed cooling units failed.  They've brought in two portable units and they have two more inbound, one each from Richmond and Baltimore.  They don't expect it to get any worse.  It's about 100 degrees fahrenheit today in the DC area.  It looks like they got caught short by the relatively sudden upswing in temperature, as the spring had been pretty cool.

    I can't quite wrap my brain around this.  I never met Amanda Savell but I saw her in person several times and this is just shocking.  I almost can't believe it.

    I seem to be getting harder to tolerate as I get older.

    I'm the same way.  I'm in the process of leaving a job, and my boss told me that my "interpersonal skills really need work."  To which I responded that "No, my interpersonal skills are excellent.  It's my tolerance for other people that sucks."  He gave me a hard look, laughed and said, "Well, OK, that's probably true."

    I think she's just a wee bit annoyed that so many stories lately have such significant sexual content.

    Another thing is that 10 or 12 years ago, I tried to minimize the sexual content of my stories in the hope of mitigating personal life problems if my name was revealed.  Last thing I wanted was to wake up 20 years later and be branded as someone who posted porn stories to the internet.

    However, it now appears that in another 8 or 10 years, very little stigma will still remain attached to that sort of thing.  Hell, Al Franken's U.S. Senate run is in a bit of trouble because of pornographic material he wrote for Playboy years ago, but he's probably going to win the nomination, anyway.

    I don't like it either, DP, but it seems the younger generation views porn as normative.  Who to blame?
