I had amazing abs when I was running 60+ miles a week.  Of course I wouldn't recommend that.

What about those who suggest that crunches are counter-productive, Alex?  And that the abs are worked sufficiently through other movements and exercises?

Aren't abs just a function of overall fitness, lean-ness and where a given person's body likes to store fat?

The quizmaster (Jeff Foxworthy) was joking.  And I've got two words for your indictment of the U.S. educational system, cpbell: Jade Goody:

Pickler's career rests on three legs – charisma, talent and hilarious ditziness.  She has a tendency of saying things that are so dumb they're clever, like Yogi Berra.  I would guess that the reason she was invited on the show was the expectation that she would generate at least one funny, viral YouTube video like the one above.  And she did.
