Compared to the process of making computer art: making art “the olde fashioned way” definitely has its level of difficulty. You’re forced to (or choose to) literally manipulate real matter as opposed to light that has along with it with a multitude of built-in manipulations and safeguards.

That being said, my experiences so far with working in photoshop is that it has its own difficulties; mainly in knowing and becoming familiar with the multiple processes that can turn crap work into something that looks professioinal.

I do highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried to paint/draw for real to do so for it will enhance one’s understanding of what can be done in photoshop etc. I’ve had the mixed blessing of growing up in an age where you made art starting from scratch, but would’ave loved photoshop had it been around for me as a teenager.

Thank you, Alex, for mentioning Quadra-Blu. (And forgive me if this is appearing twice: I submitted a comment earlier that seems to have been lost) I try and keep Quadra’s physical assets in a believable range and I stay away from the fetishy stuff. I also like playing Quadra “against type”; meaning she’s not out there beating up guys and she can be insecure in situations.

There’s an interview on AdultSwim.com with Penthouse Pet Ryan Keely talking about her love of comics and especially of strong, complex female characters like Aeon Flux (which I used to love!). Maybe if some Amaz0ns fans post comments about Quadra on the article it will get some notice!

It could be called the Fem-muscle power hour. Quadra would be animated in her linear style and Tetsuko would have that anime look. Would be a total hoot to see what kind of voices the characters would have, too. Seriously though, it would do the genre a world of good to have something like an ongoing cartoon really happen (and not just be a featured subject occasionally in some other cartoon) It all depends on who (aka big company; not just me) thinks they can make money from such a thing. Wish, wish, wish upon that falling star (or is that an asteroid?)

Quadra-Blu would be just another (albeit blue-haired) fitness chick if she didn’t have her muscle size. Fetish trappings aside, she would make a very interesting character to animate!

Hi Ashlee,

One hope with the Quadra-Blu cartoon was to make it worthy of going mainstream if the opportunity arose. For any creator; licensing is the “brass ring”, but it’s extremely hard to do. Timing and knowing the right people is part of getting the ball over the goal line. The best thing I can do is continue to build my audience and say a lot of prayers that one of them may be related to somebody with power in the entertainment industry.

Of course, if you happen to know anyone like that, please spread the word about Quadra!

I think I figured out what the problem is. If your Family Filter is turned ON then the video will show up as Nothing there. you can turn off the filter by clicking on the word “ON” and switching it to OFF. It’s at the top right corner of the browser window. It might then ask you to restart your browser in 32 bit mode, but might not.
