ParticipantThanks for making and sharing this effort.
With further support and coding complexity it would be amusing if there were some “Bad Ends” that resulted in the main character waking up thinking it was all a dream.
Could be some modified text that indicates that the main character “Feels a sense of deja vu” when the decision point that resulted in their previous “Bad End” reappears. Perhaps some secret story paths are only unlocked after having one of these prophetic disasters from a previous play through.
Hey there! Bad ends are totally doable (and quite easy to make) though I’m personally not too keen on the ‘it was all a dream’ trope – just a personal thing. I likely wouldn’t add a bad end until far far in the future after I’ve implemented a lot of the other systems I want to add.
It is also possible (although tricky) to have prior playthroughs affect future ones. The problem is, if the player hits “restart” at all, there would be no way to keep track of what happened in the past. Overall, I personally don’t see this sort of thing being implemented in the near future – sorry!
If I do eventually reach the point where endings are added, I could see having some kind of bonus for playing again on a completed file though.

ParticipantThis series is actually up to part 11 now… Totally forgot to update here for whoever may somehow come across it.
Here is a link to the specific gallery for this story – should contain all parts of it unless I made a mistake: http://magnusmagneto.deviantart.com/gallery/39234310

ParticipantThis story is currently up to chapter 10 right now for anyone interested.
I will be uploading Chapter 10 onto brawna in the next few days, and it’s available immediately on my deviantart here: http://magnusmagneto.deviantart.com/gallery/39408195

ParticipantAfter poking around the internet a bit, I’m not actually sure what gender the character in question is. Since the Japanese language lacks gender specific pronouns it’s hard to really tell.
All I could really find:
http://www.anime-planet.com/characters/byakugun/similar claims female.
http://myanimelist.net/character/63883/Byakugun claims female that turns into a man

ParticipantI know this is going to be a SUPER unpopular suggestion.
But if people like Brawna so much, maybe it’s time to set up a subscription service to have the website break even and pay for itself?
I know, I know, “WHAT SUBSCRIPTIONS!?” But really, if it’s getting to the point that Lingster is having a headache keeping it running, well… the consumers of the website should contribute -something- to keep it going.
The problem with that is the content of the website is produced by the community… (Although Lingster does have a couple stories, which are quite great by the way!) Many of the “consumers” are indeed contributing something, that being the very content hosted đ (well, then again, with 50k visitors a day, the authors are an extreme minority)
There’s little to no reason to submit stories to a site if the site is charging people for a subscription using their own content. Of course, it’d obviously be unreasonable to expect the current authors to get paid for many logistical reasons.
One solution would be for authors on the site to be granted a free subscription… but that raises a few issues of its own. For example, it could encourage low-quality content that’s quickly whipped up simply to get a free subscription. Alternatively, people might resort to stealing other stories wholesale from sites such as deviantart, saradas, the valkyrie and mg-sg pbworks. On that note, if you put up a subscription fee to brawna, people will simply flock to those other sites I’ve named.
Ultimately, the only way (that I can see) to turn a site like brawna into a profitable subscription service would be for it to host exclusive stories – and for Lingster to pay the authors that he handpicks for the site. Honestly, that sounds like far more work, and I seriously wonder if people would even bother subscribing at all. Then again, maybe it’s an untapped market.
Long story short, turning a site like Brawna into a subscription site raises a large slew of issues. I do wonder if it’s possible for Lingster to run ads that get through adblock (if that’s possible) in order to help offset the costs… That sounds like an ideal solution to me.

ParticipantAh, well I think I may have found them all then by using a “site:thevalkyrie.com steve z ” search on google…!
Still – many thanks for your writings. You, along with Marknew have been a really big inspiration for my own FMG stories.
As an author, I totally understand what it’s like to have a lot of unfinished concepts laying around (since I have a bunch myself), but I just wanted to let you know that if you ever get around to releasing any, myself and undoubtedly many others will be extremely grateful!

ParticipantI’m not sure when (could be in that book) but a pretty toned brunette is introduced. Biggest problem with that manga is the muscular chinese girl ends up getting less muscular later on… (she’s beaten in a fight and is convinced her muscle makes her too slow)
