ParticipantPriscilla is a Powerlifter. Olympic lifting has different lifts from Powerlifting.
Olympic lifting has the Snatch – the weight is lifted overhead while the athlete squats below it and then stands up – and the Clean & Jerk – the weight is brought to the shoulders and then with a rapid shove and splitting of the legs the arms are locked overhead. You do not press the weight.
Powerlifting has the Benchpress, Squat and deadlift. (I figure people are more aware of what these lifts are.)
There is a lot more technique and coordination to Olympic lifting while powerlifting is more pure muscle power.
I've been using NBC's online replays. If you go to NBC's Olympic Online Coverage You can find some stuff to watch. The weightlifting coverage often starts before the actual lifting occurs so be patient of fast forward a bit. So far the most muscular woman has been the Chinese gold medalist in the 58kg class Yanqing Chen.David
ParticipantI'm gonna have to get me that! Thanks for the heads up.

ParticipantGood god!
Reminds me I saw a really really hot Catwoman a few years ago, Jim Balent the Catwoman artist at the time wanted to chase her down. Imagine how we felt when it turned out to be a guy.July 23, 2008 at 8:38 am in reply to: Pics featuring Aryan supervillainess: should i post them ??? #73428David
ParticipantThe swastikas are technically outlawed in Germany. They should not pose a problem, there are plenty of non-German history sites that have posted them in pictures.
There is a certain amount of oversensitivity. A friend of a friend is catching hell in a marina because he posted a metal sign "U-boat parking only" in his slip. Seems the complainer doesn't understand that u-boat is the anglicized abbreviation of Unterseeboot a term that been in use from WW1 to today.David
ParticipantLovely. 😀

ParticipantI tend to mention specific brands as such that I like or do it to lend a sort of reality to the story. Someone might have a Diet Coke or drive a Mustang or a Viper and I'll get specific about weapons. I like to get things as realistic as possible in current stories to flesh them out as I add flesh to the characters. For instance…
Bia took a final sip from her Red Bull. She was surprised at how it didn't have the kick it used to. She tossed the can over the Pathfinder hoping the noise would draw fire from the sniper. She cursed at his patience and lept over the vehicle and landed with an unearthly grace despite her mass.
The Barret barked and a .50 caliber round slammed into her massive thigh with enough force to knock her off her feet. "You know this is really pissing me off." She snarled. -
