One of the things I should mention that I failed to before, or two things as I remember something else.
First you need a writer to just have the big built woman there as a member of the cast and to not make her the butt of jokes and if she is have her give as good or better than she takes.
Second we need the real fans to come out of the freakin closet. Stop hiding dammit your not weird. Your not a fruit cake. Working for Awefilms I've seen how many fans join the site that are from the New York City area. If half of those people showed up for the New York Muscle Club we would have had the money to pay for big named women to come to town for the shows at bigger and better venues. The MS. Olympia would still be in NYC and selling out every time. If you can go "wow" at some blond or breasty babe in public with your friends you can go "wow" when you see a bicep on a gal. It might just get your friend to open their mind and see things the way you do. At the very least they'll tolerate you.

I liked Donner and Blitzen in Shadow Cabinet. Thought it was well written as well. Soooo they were a couple. Big deal. The stories were good and it being a team book they did get shunted to the side a lot. What hurt it was it was all in the seperate universe that DC tried to pull off. Overall there were some good ideas.
But good ideas don't make a big seller and women super heroes don't make leading books. They sell well but not overly so. What I see as a cop out is the constant strong woman as a skinny gal. There are artists who just don't get it that women with muscles look good. I think Terry Dodson is one of them. As good as he is he just doesn't draw it.
When a seriously popular artist starts drawing a leading women well built regularly it will become more popular. Slowly insidiously it will creep into the fan boy psyche as artists move to emulate him.

Awefilms got some nice video of Melissa Dettwiller working out in a rather conservative outfit.

She's got that Gen13 Roxie hair style. She's dark in that last pic thanks to the skin dye everyone uses so that they don't look pale on-stage. Check the difference between the back stage shot with the trophies and the on-stage shot above it.
