Sounds like this has the potential to be a great story  :-)!

Since it takes time for an athlete to build mass, you may want your character to start bodybuilding as early as possible, particularly if you want her to reach critical mass by 18 or so (though it seems counter-productive to start before puberty). 

I agree with Reason – in the real world, it would take an earth shattering event to get the mainstream media to do a major story on bodybuilding.  A girl under 18 winning the Miss Olympia might do it, though not likely.  A girl competing in the heavyweight class of the Mr. Olympia would probably do it.  The same girl not only winning the Mr. O, but totally devestating the competition would definately do it.  I'd imagine that would create quite a controversy (how much is too much, can a woman become too much like a man, etc.)

If you were to create a world where there is a competition for bodybuilders way beyond the Olympia level, then the rules change.  You could have it so that bodybuilding is a worldwide obsession.  Entire cabale stations could be dedicated to bringing the public bodybuilding 24 hours a day.  Here, heavyweight competitors would be like celebrities, their every moment captured by paparazi.  In this world, a female bodybuilding prodigy would become an instant superstar.

Chapter 5 has been put on hold while RhinehartD and I work on the Jenna/Dawn story.  Hopefully Rhinehartd will have his art done soon so we can post this sucker up.  It definitely sets a new standard for mass. 

You're right about realism vs fantasy, Monothefox.  Jenna is far from realistic, yet there has to be some grounding in reality.  That's why I feel she has to push herself so hard – it in some way explains how she's able to get so big.

M. Dean is just trying to protect the artists' rights and keep the posts here about the work.  Not everybody has to be a fan of course, though it would be nice if outwardly hostile comments were kept to one's self. 

I did run my posting by Wreck and he said it was cool.  He's quite a fan of what this board represents and the hard work that Lingster and the others have done to make it so great.

When it comes to the drawings that are posted on these boards, I feel it isn't the skill depicted that I'm attracted to, but the content.  If what someone is drawing jives with my own tastes, then I'm an automatic fan – simple as that.  It's also a lot of fun to watch an artist grow and improve.  It might be small steps, or it might be drastic.  Either way, "doing your own thing" is the best advice anyone can give.  Fans might not be vocal, but you can bet they're there.  Plus, we're ultimately doing this as a way to explore our own interests.  If an artists is seeking noteriety, they should probably start by picking a more mainstream subject matter  :wink:.

Thanks for posting that Jenna pic, Jeremy.  At this rate, we'll need a thread just for artists' depictions of Jenna :-D!

I've posted my thoughts on FemXman's drawing over at Forumsadaras, but what does everyone else think?  He's stated that this is Jenna from chapter 1.  Obviously she's grown throughout the series, so I think this is an accruate depiction of her from the "beginning".

As for the Jenna/Dawn crossover, the story is all finished up.  Right now, RhinehartD is putting his all into 2 illustrations.  I've seen a preview of one of them and it's extremely cool.  He's going as fast as he can, but like they say, you can't rush quality.  I'll keep everyone posted with his progress.

For the time being, here's a short preview from the story:

   Balling her fists, Jenna crunched her arms into a light most muscular pose.  Her pecs exploded into a rigid, angular mess.  Veins as thick as sausages bulged to the surface. 
Dawn felt a tinge of jealousy wash over her.  The level of muscularture this teenager was displaying was mind-boggling.  Standing here unpumped, she was utterly ripped to shreds.  Not only that, but her size was astonishing.  For the first time since Dawn had started bodybuilding, she actually felt challenged.
"That's not bad, but check out these."
Dawn cocked her arms and pumped hard.  Her chest suddenly errupted with outrageous detail.  Her already massive pecs swelled so much that they filled up her loosely hanging shirt. 
Dawn's hands shook as she flexed with all her might.  Another pump litterally doubled the thickness of her chest. 
Jenna's heart started to beat like a drum.  Dawn was monstrous. Her chest was repulsively muscular.  It was everything a bodybuilder could wish for – too much even.  But for Jenna, there was no such thing as too much.
"Unnnng!!"  The teen behemoth moaned as she tightened her fists.  She closed her eyes and poured all of her strength into her pump. 
The freaky high-schooler's chest went off like a nuclear bomb.  It swelled so hard that it actually pushed her shoulders back.  The separations between her pecs widened from an inch to over 3 inches as her muscles split into induvidual striations.

My original thoughts on Jenna's home life were that her parents were killed a few years back (maybe in a car accident) and that she's living with an uncle.  The uncle travels a lot on business, so Jenna doesn't have much in the way of supervision.  This gives her free range to build her body well past the point where a guardian would likely interfere.  Whether or not Jenna has any sibblings isn't something I've really considered.  I guess I pictured her an only child, but having a sister might be an interesting wrinkle.

On a related note, the Jenna/Dawn story is almost done.  I'm putting the finishing touches on it right now.  RhinehartD is also finishing up the first of 2 drawings.  We'll post it all as soon as it's ready.
