OK, if you REALLY want to use the old theme, you can now select it under "Look & Layout Preferences" on your profile.  This is meant for people with 800×600 resolution on their monitors – I probably won't be supporting the old theme for much longer than the rest of the year, as there are substantial software upgrades coming for both Joomla and Simple Machines Forum.
