I think the majority opinion is that Tony Stark must die or at least have a ton of sense knocked into him. He's really lost sight of what it means to be a hero.

Here's what I'm wondering:

Marvel, as I'm sure some of us have noticed, has a tendency to change the comics to reflect the movies — mainly the X-Men's costumes (that didn't last long, thankfully) and Spidey's organic webshooters. So, how are they going to de-dickify Tony by the time the Iron Man movie comes out? I'm certain it wouldn't be a sales boost to have moviegoers pick up a comic with Iron Man in it and say, "Hey, this guy's the biggest douchebag on the planet! I ain't readin' about him!"

Right now, I think the best way to "redeem" Tony would be to reveal that some time before CW, he was replaced by his evil alternate-universe self from Marvel Team-Up a couple years back, Iron Maniac.
