ParticipantThanks for the information. I appreciate your review point as I am not a biologist and admit that much of the report goes over my head. But you might be interested in knowing that clinical trials for a drug designated as MYO-029 (I think) has complete Phase II trails on muscular dystrophy patients and the report is anticipated to out in early 2007. Phase II trials require treating 100 to 300 patients to determine the effectiveness of the drug. While I agree with you that there are likely concerns with taking any drug that radically alters the bodies chemical systems, I would bet that there are men and women that would love to get their hands on such a drug if it came commercially available.

ParticipantI am no scientist and just happen to come across the article when trying to find the results of the Myo-029 testing. I would like to see what new advance have been made but do not know what NPR stands for? Any further clues?

ParticipantMy understand of how creatine works is that it increased the fluid volume inside the cell. The cell likely works more efficiently and has a greater contraction when it is larger. By taking a sugar with the Creatine you are causing a increase in insulin production that is need to absorb the sugar. The increased insulin helps transfer more creatine to the cell and increase cell volume. If you are taking just Creatine Monohydrate then adding a sugar is likely a good idea but I think that there are better sugars to add than honey. Grape juice or as mentioned Gaterade, are likely better sugars but most of todays creatine are mixed with mixed with far superior sugars for this effect. But I must admit that the added benefits are likely minimum. There is alot of information available on the internet. Hopely this helps. As I said, this is my best understanding, but I am more than willing to listen to other view points.

ParticipantFirst of all, good for you for getting back into the gym. Working with weights is the most effective way to stay in shape and maintain your health. I am no expert but here are a few things I have learn from my experience:
– Write it down. You will not know were you are going if you do not know were you have been.
– Lifting weights is less than 1/3 of the equation. Eating right and getting enough sleep is a bigger part.
– Cardio is not necessary and counter productive if you wish to gain size.
– If you insist on doing cardio and have limited time try HITT training. Should be able to look it up on the internet.
– Change up your workouts regular to reduce the boredom.
– Incorporate the 3 basic power movement into your workouts once a week. (Squats, Deads, Benches)Finally, dont beat yourself up is you miss a day. Good luck.

ParticipantI do not want to complain but has Guy left the planet. I have been patiently waiting, but this is getting ridiculous. Guess I will have to keep hope that the series continues.

ParticipantI do not post that often, but I have enjoyed the build up and development of your story to date and would like to encourage you to keep writing. You obviouly have some skill for writing considering the speed which you created the last 8 chapters. I hope you continue develop the charactors and storey line and not rushing to create a quick ending.
