I believe the style is called “animu”… which is kind of the bastard offspring of Western and manga/anime style that generally pisses off most people…

But honestly, this reminds me of how Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk just wasted a bunch of time rehashing stuff. Although, I suppose Savage She-Hulks gets off the hook a bit as there’s the POSSIBILITY people might not know this backstory… even if being stuck in the enemy strong hold makes the recounting of tales past incredibly idiotic.

My thoughts on the matter…

Short version – disappointing. Who reading this needs all the backstory we’ve HEARD BEFORE?! And if there WAS a place for backstory was it really in a 3 issue mini-series? No.

Eminently predictable that they’d just hand wave Marlo being Harpy and go “Well, that’s never happening again.”

But… the She-Rulk story was interesting and the A-Bomb one was fun… the rest weren’t really that good.

Given we found out the origin of the belt/coat arrangement, I’m surprised she’s kept that attire – it is a cool look though.

Honestly, you’re just never going to get the kind of muscle you want on female comic characters… and you can rely upon the fact a title like HOH is going to be 90% male heroes and the girls… hardly getting anything.

Don’t expect anything because something like the TF sequence in Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine was Marvel’s FMG quota for the decade.

Somewhat related and someone came into #FTF10 literally today for the express purpose of asking for stories that involve the growing female/shrinking male dynamic and mentioned Greapos – who has a few stories that basically involve the wife growing and then the husband shrinking due to her spontaneous lactation.

It’s mostly growth and BE – I’m not sure they’re found outside TOB.

You could well be right… I suppose the advantage of muties is that they're a dime a dozen. No origin story required just "Oh, I woke up shooting lasers out my eyes, guess I'll go join the X-men." Which lead to sufficient proliferation that Joe Q went ahead with Decimation to clean shop with the bastards.

It certainly seems Marvel has been building the gamma spawn of late… Just off the top of my head, we've had Skaar, Lyra, Rulk, She-Rulk, Scorpion (probably), Rick as A-Bomb and then we had the chaps from Gamma Corps.

I still hope we have some kind of situation where Betty comes back and finds Bruce has managed to have THREE kids while she was dead.
