ParticipantGrey She-Hulk? I'm not really sure that you can talk about her… as far as I can recall, she was limited to 2 issues of the Sensational comic.

ParticipantAn apt metaphor, Titaneer. I'd agree there was truly little merit to either of them… but then I think I was labouring the point that they are, in fact, both bad in different ways.
Anyway, while I've not read any PAD stuff… the generally positive response as well as what's he's said about the direction he wants to take it makes me feel pretty positive.
He seems keen to move away from the law firm, away from the wackiness and toward something that's still got some laughs but is more ass kicking… which I suppose much of the recent She-Hulk has aspired to be… but the art was a real let down and She-Hulk beating Abomination with a cheap shot was weak too. If PAD is going to make her Marvel's Wonder Woman, let's hope he puts her back to 100 and lets her kick ass without cheap shots.

ParticipantI don't know… both of them are pretty dire, I see better work on dA on a daily basis… mostly because those artists know how to not make a woman look like she's made of jello or has a head like a shoebox or possibly be a man. Things that were the "forte" of these two no-talents.
Prophet Tenebrae
ParticipantI'm not sure about Slott… I think he improved her standing but then there was a lot of stuff Search For She-Hulk, Civil War, World War Hulk that has helped her character… and the man admitted that he wanted it to be a zany, quirky cult hit and I think that many were unhappy with that… I certainly felt that at times, Slott was trying to force humour or wackiness in where it felt wrong to do so.
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see where we're going with PAD… I had mixed feelings about Slott's run but I think he probably increased She-Hulk's fanbase. I also think he got screwed over on the artist front… the two main artists were both horrible… and while I'm aware Bobillo had his fans, his work looked amateurish to me and didn't exactly do She-Hulk justice… unless you want to see her as a big piece of jello.
Anyway, looking forward to the change.

ParticipantLooks like a good basis for a poser comic… fun as a one off too.
Prophet Tenebrae
ParticipantThanks for that, ze fly… somehow I don't feel my limited ability to discern the dialogue didn't damage my enjoyment of the comic.
Prophet Tenebrae
ParticipantI'd never heard of the guy but seems like he's a pretty well respected guy… and that's half the battle in many respects… I don't think he's going to rock the boat though.
I suppose we'll just have to see where he's going to take her… female Wonder Woman is a lofty goal though… I mean, Marvel really doesn't have any equivalent to WW… I suppose Jean Grey is probably the best known Marvel female but I think that She-Hulk could be moulded into a "heavy hitter"… maybe.
Prophet Tenebrae
ParticipantI thought that destroyed the entire universe?
But looks like the trick that worked on Jen wasn't particularly effective against the Hulk… but then, as I said… not much of a world war if the Hulk gets KO'd in the first round.
Which I suppose is the problem with this kind of story… you know that the Hulk isn't going to get taken down until the 11th hour… BY A RESURRECTED CAPTAIN AMERICA!
Prophet Tenebrae
ParticipantYeah… they have made Hulk's strength/power pretty ridiculous, haven't they?
I mean, sure he's mad and so on but does that really mean he should be utterly unstoppable?
Prophet Tenebrae
ParticipantI understand… so, more about a realistic transition for you then. That makes sense… I suppose girls bursting out of their clothes is not for everyone and I think that most of us can appreciate the slow progression model.
Thanks for the full answer.
