Yeah… I imagine I've heard clothes ripping before but generally, I think (and I'm thinking of the story codes at TOB) I've seen clothes bursting/CB as the appropriate term… and that's why I use it at FTF10… originally there was going to be a category specifically for it but that seemed a trifle redundant as 99 times out of 100 there's process involved in clothes bursting.

I think that a lot of the time, the ripping is hard… it's generally done better in comics and pictures (plenty of talented artists at Amaz0ns have acquitted themselves well)… with Poser, it's pretty much impossible to do anything with clothing except the "melt" effect (or so it seems) and in animation… I think they don't want to be gratuitous.

Given that particular problem was precipitated by a rather specific set of circumstances… what's his name doing something with radiation… I think that's a debatable now that she's recovered from that.

I don't know if I'd be keen on it being like the 50ft woman – assuming we're talking the trashy 90s remake. It was too… sudden. For her to be more Savage era… I'm not sure, I think that the current incarnation – fun loving and empowered and such.

I'd agree with Ritz too – it's presumably a matter of apathy.

Your point is valid, AlexG – the Incredible Hulk has been around for quite some time… but he's managed to keep his hulking manhood tucked away for decades… but then, the same is true of She-Hulk – nighties to cover her naughty bits… but I think that it's fairly easy to ignore the penis… the breasts tend to be rather more prominent and generally – breast expansion is either erotic or comic… and that's something that is going to put a dent in selling the concept as serious.

I think that it is all very much about how it's packaged. You're not going to get away with turning a mousy Jen Walters into 7' of hulkingly ripped jade giantess with tits to make Chelsea Charms feel flat. You can push the limits I think – so, yes probably one of the less extreme FBBs… and the breasts couldn't be too huge (proportionally). You'd need to do it properly and you couldn't make it gratuitous but yeah… I think you could probably do it in a mainstream friendly way. I suppose the question is whether it's worth the compromise.

I'm not sure the parallels are there… I mean, She-Hulk is essentially a woman that lucked out and got a ripped – well, depending on who's drawing – physique… body builders have to work hard and I don't think any of them enjoy the kind of body that Jen got. FBBs and She-Hulk probably just aren't that close together in the mind of the public.

Also, I agree with baditude… I'm not sure I'd say that it was a taboo perhaps but there seems to be a great deal more reluctance to have a woman hulk out – presumably because femuscle is generally looked down upon and because breasts bursting forth from a top are somewhat more provocative than Banner running around in purple pants. Plus, if you say that

Of course, all that said – a She-Hulk bursting out of her clothes on screen is probably going to lead to more "converts"… and that's probably a more valuable commodity than glancing interest.
