ParticipantYeah, pretty damned stupid for Beast to toss himself in there.
I do wish Rogue would get around to absorbing the Hulk (or maybe Rulk)… fun stuff.

ParticipantLast issue today… It looks POSSIBLE that Betty (from the preview) that Betty is going to fight Wolverine. So, possible shulk out two… but as this writer can't leave twists to Lost, I'm going to sit on the fence.
It's hilarious Logan talks about "Round 2", I guess I missed the part where they stopped dicking around and actually had more than 2 panels of action next to one another.

ParticipantThe effects aren't bad but I'm not sure all the CGI or digital effects in the world can hide the fact that Callista Flockhart's innards have probably seen less use than the new Swiss navy's aircraft carrier.
Good find though. Thanks for posting… Reminds me of the Sabrina gym scene.

ParticipantJoe Q is pretty keen to do what he wants, logic and fans be damned.
As to #5 of UWvH – all of two panels of Ultimate She-Hulk and more of the tedious talky stuff and meandering nothing happens stuff you'd expect from a writer of Lost. Barely worth the effort of reading.
Did someone tell the guy he could just keep writing this until the sales dropped off? Or are Marvel merely trying to be incredibly satirical with the overblown promos which talk about the slugfest of the century… and then the book turns about to be about 25 pages of Wolverine talking to pandas.

ParticipantA Jekyll/Hyde situation might be fun but I think the development of that may be potentially quite involved, if you want to do it any justice… and I think alter-ego stuff really does need a lot of involvement and development to be worth doing.
Unless you want to avoid some situation where your protagonist loses control of her power or some such I'd suggest that she starts out experimenting. She gets the hang of changing herself and her friends, then starts to push her limits. Maybe she starts to think bigger… the town seems better when she makes all the women Amazons… or maybe it's all just a game to her? She doesn't REALLY think about it, she just does it – because she can. Impulsive and so on – she can rationalise everything by saying "I can just put it back to the way it was – if I want."
I suppose it's difficult for a normal girl to have a rationale behind Amazoning the whole world.

ParticipantI was vexed by the constant need to rehash, the regular flashbacks for no real reason and a great deal of talking and not much action… then I just went "Oh, yeah – this guy writes Lost."
What cracks me up is the solicits for each issue KEEP going on about this EPIC SLUGFEST and yes, comics are generally the worst offenders for massive hyperbole but with this title, it just makes me laugh.

ParticipantNot forgetting that they're forcing the Dark Reign stuff in there (I've no idea what that is, really beyond involving Osborne)… presumably to make it crossover fodder.

ParticipantSeriously, I don't get why people are STILL bleating on about the actress to play Jen Walters vs. the actress to play She-Hulk.
It seems fair to assume they'd just go the Incredible Hulk root and just CG the actress.
But it's all academic because I'm more likely to win the lottery than a She-Hulk film happening appearing in the cinema in the next decade.

ParticipantAmusingly, I think this has had more action in a single issue than the Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine has had in all 4 – the fact the blurb for #5 dubbed it a "slugfest" made me laugh.
Personally, I think they were pretty fucking cheeky. There are (including the cover) only 23 pages of actual comic. The rest is some self-congratulatory backslapping interview where the writer gets to tell us how damned good he is. Admittedly the art and action are good, there's some interesting plot regarding Lyra's backstory and her mission and of course, the obligatory lead in to the fight with She-Hulk. So – my only complaint is the length.

ParticipantAs always ze fly, your finds are tiny little treasures to be unwrapped with glee.
Also, that must be some gym to give POWERGIRL a work out… Nice that she's looking jacked… but wow. I hope that gym has a solid floor.
