I get a lot of angry stares when i went to watch female bodybuilding contest in Altantic city,
I work out “for bulk” (9 years this comming sept.) is to feel good and compete on a even playing filed in my job.
Remember most women were still wearing High heels in contest , saw My first contest on HBO in 81, and they have been few and far between.
Its shame, the media & fashion industry also does not promote the healthier bodybuilder but the half starved Boyish looks of fashion models.
but then when has Female bodybuilding ever enjoyed a postive showing.
that 1984 TV movie was last time.Angrily staring at a bodybuilder at a bodybuilding contest seems pretty unfair! Were they jealous because their partners were staring at you in lust or something?

ParticipantThe first tablet I got was a real cheap one and it was just horrible. The pen was so thick, you pretty much had to use your whole fist to hold it and it even had an annoyingly heavy cord between the pen and the tablet! However, as bad it was, I couldn’t go back to a mouse after that, so on DCM’s recommendation at the time, I got a Wacom Graphire, and while it was awesome for airbrush type work, the resolution and area wasn’t really good enough for linework.
Unluckily, or perhaps luckily in the long run, my sister, presumably mistaking my tablet for a coaster, spilt a drink on it, and I had to replace it. Again, on DCM’s recommendation, I went with a 6×8 Intuos this time, and was absolutely blown away with the results I was able to achieve with it. It has double the resolution of the Graphire, as well as a much larger area, and it really shows when using it for digital inking. I also like that you can get additional pens for it, like the inking pen (with actual ink) or the marker pen (with rotation).
I’ve never used a Genius tablet, so I can’t say how that would compare, but I can’t help but think that there is a reason that the Wacom tablets are the most expensive, as well as being the most popular, especially amongst professionals.

In the RXMuscle thread it looks like Australia is going through a drought and in some places here in the US you see drops in competitors. In others you see sudden bursts of competitors.
That’s what really surprised me, I normally think of the Land Down Under having more then its fair share of uberbuffed women. But according the poster, and as a publisher of a Aussie BBing mag (so he should know if anyone should), its all but extinct under the southern cross.
While it’s true that the female bodybuilding scene is not very big in Australia (not that it ever was), there seems to be an ever growing number of women around who are noticeably buff or at least highly athletic. I happened to be driving past a gym the other day on my way home from work, and I noticed a seemingly endless procession of buff women walking from their cars to the gym for a workout session, obviously after they had just finished work.
Also, I don’t think you can say there’s no link between the feminist movement and more women working out. As more women started moving into careers previously dominated by men, there had to be an increased motivation for them to become stronger to do be able to work in some areas. I mean look at Ashlee. She said one of the reasons she started working out was to be able to equal and not intimidated by the men she had to do business with.

ParticipantI’m willing to allow Bill Dobbins the occasional rant since he has done so much to promote Female Bodybuilding over the years.
However, here I think Lingster is right on the money. If there really was a huge potential market for the bigger FBBs, why wouldn’t the Weiders have exploited it to the max? The bottom line is that most people prefer women to look conventional and that is never going to change.
Also, things are even worse now, thanks to the backlash to the wide use of steroids in pro female bodybuilding. It seems that now the general public opinion is that a woman is not able to develop even a modest amount of muscle mass and definition without steroids. It’s possible that it is this perception that has led to us seeing less and less muscle in female physique competitions and the women are forced to not train too hard. Sometimes I wonder what they are being judged on. It sucks because some of the best women are forced to retire from competition because they have become too muscular for figure, but are not willing to get big enough to compete at the pro bodybuilding level.

ParticipantNew site is awesome. Thanks for all the hard work guys!
It’s especially great being able to go through and download some of the HD clips that I had previously missed out on.

Me thinks she could put the tennis ball straight through you . . . 😉

I think that’s a squash racquet, Alex. 😛
That’s right, so if you’re lucky the ball will go through the wall and not through you several times!

ParticipantWow, there are some really buff chicks in Michelangelo’s “Last Judgement”! We can only wonder at what the rest of their bodies looked like before they got painted over with robes after Michelangelo’s death.
